Something tells me that you have the 'Rest until fully healed' option on, most of your guys were heavily injured, and you didn't have a cleric in your party. ;)

Could be it Assassin, it was when I first played through SoA, so I was a n00b, quicker to sleep than cast healing spells ;)

I had Ease-Of-Use mod: Multiple Strongholds componant, and I did every class stronghold quests 100% (except a couple I wasn't interested in). Could have done it in less if I bounced from one to the next, but it got too complex to manage so I just stayed put, completing each stronghold to conclusion.

That can happen if you rest in one of the dead magic zones in Watchers Keep. If it didn't happen in WK who knows why it happened?
