its a great technique i reckon . . .

arfanawel watched the group from the shadows - four warriors and a mage could cause him real difficulties but if the mage cold be dealt with first . . .

the problem was that the mages dying scream would alert the warriors and, lightly armoured, arfanawel would be in trouble - then he remembered something a fellow adventurer had suggested talking tactics in the copper coronet - he grinned and sunk deeper into the shadows and crept forward moving so stealthily that he passed between two warriors who he could have reached out and touched to position himself behind the watchful mage

at this point arfanawel unpacked his suit of full plate armor from his enormous rucksack, removed his leathers, pullled on the undershirt, chain jerkin, greaves, bracers & gauntlets - pulled on the chest and back plates tightened all the straps - put on his helm, closed the visor picked up the dagger and stepped forward . . . .

;)

not very realistic all that, or you can suppose that Arfananwel is moving at the speed of light (but why backstabbing then ?!? ;) )

i could also wear a lighter armor (shadow dragon stuff for example), and so i don't have to change armor plenty of times... (i'm not a girl who needs to change their clothes ten times a day ;) )

ah - sorry about the "he" in that case - i toyed with trying to make it non gender specific but i couldn't be bothered

back on topic - i believe that you can stay in as much heavy armour as you like if you use magical invisibility for your backstabs

arfananwel 08-06-2004 06:17 AM

all i have to have is a full load of invisibility potions and the ring of invisibility !

(i like your story ;) )

</font>
Hey, I said the trick was cheesy. :D Anyway, a thief that can actually do all that must be the stealthiest person in the multiverse.

a bit o cheese here with that ring o invis:

drop it in a gem bag and its recharged.

Use at your own discretion as it may ruin your game (not literally, just the fun part).

Now you have inf invis and you can use it while in your drow plate +5 that you stole from the underdark using your ferret. Hah, i love cheese.
