Plus, it's fairly cheap to increase from 7 (where Cerek's 9 would drop to if Viconia were added) to 18 compared to what it costs to go from 9 to 18. The higher your rep, the more you must donate to get a rep increase. ;)

there's a bottom too though, once you get below IIRC 8 it gets more expensive to raise your rep, so get it up to 11 or so then get Vic (the exact amounts to donate at each rep point are in the manual)

CAUSE YOU WRITE EVERYTHING IN PURPLE ;)

Cerek you must have toasted an inocient some where along the line. At the point you are you should have about 13-14 rep.

And killing an innocent would drop your rep 5-6 points at that stage, so....

I once went down to 10 again (from 14 or somesuch) after booting an npc created by me. IIRC that is. I was playing a solo sorcerer and made a swashbuckler to aid me in the dungeon. When outside (after a couple of quests that pushed my rep up a bit , I booted him and voila! Reputation : 10.

This was still in multiplayer mode mind you.

Hmmmmm....now THAT is a possibility I had not considered. In the early stage of the game, I let some NPC's join, only to turn around and boot them out again as soon as I didn't need them anymore.

I let Yoshimo join me in the Chateau just so he could act as a pack mule and carry out all those robes I had retrieved from the dead duergar mages. As soon as he picked up the robes, I kicked him out and told him to meet me at a "major inn".

Once I got out of the Chateau I also allowed Aerie and Anomen to join (at different times) JUST so they could cast some healing spells on me. I let them join, we rested to gain spells, and I had them heal me - then kicked them out again. I never thought about that having an adverse effect on my Rep, but maybe that is what did it.

As the esteemed John "Hale" Harris pointed out, I should have a Rep of about 13-14 by now. Instead I had to donate to two temples just to get it back up to 10. I'm fairly certain I did NOT kill any innocents along the way (cause the Rep Loss shows up immediately when you do that). I also just didn't cast any spells outside until I had a chance to "buy" my license from the Cowled Wizards. Even after that, I can think of only one fight I had outside where I used spells, and that was with the two thugs that confronted me right outside the Coppor Coronet after my first visit.

Oh well....I'm on my way to building it back up. Fortunately, I hadn't completed many quests yet. I gained 1 point of Rep for solving the Bridge District Murders and I can always donate to another temple to build the Rep up where it's supposed to be at this stage.

At least my Rep is "Average" now instead of "Disliked".

Umm... good luck?

Don't worry mate... all is good. :D

I would take it that you lost it in a battle while there was an innocent bystander who got toasted but that has already been said... tsktsktsk. Since it is not a big thing I guess it's okay.

I just couldn't believe what you did to Faldorn... LOL

Luvian 08-15-2004 09:35 PM

Maybe you killed someone in the Copper Coronet.

Or maybe you mistakenly said an evil dialog options somwhere in the game.

You lose rep points if you kill the guy that's trying to arrest Jan Jansen. Could you have done that?
