I use Jah and Khalid as well, although I wish they weren't a "couple" as I'd get rid of Jah in a hot minute! But, alas, if Jah dies, eventually Khalid turns yellow and leaves the party, so I'm stuck with the irritable snob! Their fighting in my game seems to be a random thing. I like Khalid though, a great fighter (well except with Jah where he turns whimpy!)

He was vocally cowardly, but still an excellant fighter with no hesitation. As far as I'm concerned, Jaheira could go fly! |

Actually, stat-wise and ability-wise, I much prefer Monty and Xzar to Jaheira and Khalid. Monty's a pretty good Fighter/Thief (he's absolute trash compared to Coran, of course, but who isn't?), and I think Xzar's the best pure Mage in the game. (Depending on your equipment: If no one in your party needs the Gauntlets of Dexterity, go ahead and get Edwin. If you DO have a clumsy guy, you're better off using Xzar.) On the other side, neither Khalid nor Jaheira have a STR or DEX worth writing home about, and where does Jaheira get off calling herself a Druid with only 14 Wisdom? If you want to play the 'plot-suggested' party of You, Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, and Dynaheir, go ahead. But if you're doing anything else, I'd leave the Friendly Arm pair to their own devices.

Just put jaheira in a house, walk to the other end of the map. Then remove her from your party and get out of there(thats what i did).

No way!!!!! You mean I can actually get rid of Jah and keep Khalid???? REJOICE!!!!!!! I had no idea! Wooohoooo! Thanks for telling me, next NPC I choose will be taking her place (still have only found a couple NPCs from DSOTSC, waiting for better ones)!
Now you guys are SURE right? Nothing later will happen with Khalid down the road later on in the game? Is OK all the way around?? |
Yeah, Dreamer has the formula right. Just put the member of the pair you want to drop in a house alone, by him or herself, and remove the character. I guess it wouldn't hurt to move a distance away before dropping the character as insurance, although that probably shouldn't matter. There won't be any storyline repercusions.
Interesting that you prefer Khalid. If I ever do this to that pair I prefer to keep Jaheira! |
I am amazed that anyone has the patience to keep Jaheira in their party, she winds me right up and I simply let her get killed before picking up Branwyn. Khalid has never moaned about her dying or anything.
|
If you don't want someone in your party, just kill them yourself. I got rid of Dynaheir that way. You keep Minsc and don't have to put up with Dynaheir's crap. Works with Khalid and Jaheria too.

Xzar is the best NPC in the game (He's my character's boyfriend! HA!). I love the soundset he has, especially if you click him (or any other character) several times in a row and hear the easter egg sounds! I couldn't dump K & J fast enough- all the whining K did was upsetting. J was much more tolerable, but still annoying. I play an evil party anyway, so it's natural to use Xzar. I let Montaron die early on, though. Xzar is now 5th level and very strong character.
Of the evil characters I have, I think Kagain is the worst. I keep him because he regenerates HPs. Oh, Shar-Teel's easter egg sound set is really funny, too. She reminds me a lesbian friend of mine. ; ) Katherine |
