Excellent concept. Clubs and Daggers are both excellent side weapons with your character concept, since both are kind of "generic" weapons that anyone has access to (he loves darts, and just picked up some skill in those other weapons just in case he needs to "brawl" up close). Definitely go with the 5 party members, then add ToB NPC for 6. You really don't need Mazzy (you are the main archer), and once you get Imoen back you have a very well-rounded party that can take you through the game easily enough with 5 characters.

Halfling is probably the best race for this guy (bonus with thrown weapons), though human might fit slightly better with the concept.

I cannot confirm for sure, but AFAIK, Single Weapon Style only applies to melee attacks, not ranged ones.

ADD] Oh, I forgot to mention the race. Personally I chose Elf, because there is a portrait in the game, the one that looks somewhat like Micheal J Fox. Looks totally harmless, which is a theme I am looking for too.

Dartmaster of Doom just sounds corny.

Sounds cool. Anyone out there who likes to play with programming who wants to make this bad boy an actual class potential? What stronghold would such a class have? Perhaps set up a dart board area in CC, and a dart tournament is the classes quest. You can become the king of the slums. :D

Umm I hate to burst the bubble, but the main evildoer is actually the big black guy (sorry if that's not P.C.). You know, he's not called KingPin for no reason. He is the crime boss who hired Bullseye.

Yeah well; the Kingpin sucked Bullseye was cool!!! (nice overacting by Colin Farell)

I like the Dartmaster idea. I've experimented in both BG2 and IWD with having one of my tanks take darts for his ranged weapon (to use shields). There really are a lot of magical darts to be found! I never ran out of looted darts (although I was in melee much of the time).

The damage from normal darts is pretty small, but darts of stunning and wounding are very effective (soften up tougher enemies with Gr. Malison)

Are the darts limited by the BG engine to 5 attacks a round?

If I remember correctly, darts are on of the few weapons in pnp that you are able to achieve MORE than 5 attacks per round, I'm pretty sure a level 13+ warrior (with specialisation or mastery...) gets either 6 or 7 dart attacks.

Which is just as well because of the damage per strike :D

Personally, I'd a) invent some new weapons for this character specifically to use and b) see how many attacks the game engine allows, and try and circumvent the restriction if it wont let you have more than 5 attacks.

Food for thought?

If you have Throne of Bhaal installed, you can use either the Infinity Engine Editor Pro or Near Infinity to get the effect "attack number doubling", which will raise your total attacks per round up to 10 vis-a-vis Whirlwind/Greater Whirlwind. Even without that, at 5 attacks per round and a decent thac0 a Dartmaster could cause enemies some real problems, especially if the darts are enchanted or have some special extra effect; Dartmasters could quickly burn through enemy mage Stoneskin or Mirror Image spells.

It's restricted to 5 ApR AFAIK, and it's hardcoded into the engine. No worries though... because remember, he will be with a party. Improved Haste to the rescue! No need for that ToB HLA known as GWW. ;) Instead... imagine 10 ApR worth of GDB.
