Why bother? Throw in another Web, instead: The chance of enemies being Webbed by x2 Web is bigger than them being Webbed by Greater Malison + Web. Plus, level 2 spells are considerably cheaper than level 4 spells.

In general, Web is the spell to use for early BG2, especially for soloers.
Web + [ Enter Area Effect Spell Here ], Web + Spider Spawn (Spiders are immune to Web. Duh!), Web + Missile Weapons, Web + Free Action'd front, you name it. In addition, Web is "cumulative" and does not turn blue-circled creatures hostile - perfect for cheesily taking down pompous enemy parties such as Mencar & Co.

<span style="color: lightblue">The game thoughtfully provides you with a weapon which gets past Torgal's high movement rate *and* does a fair amount of damage to him (including fire and acid damage), and it's right there in the keep ready to use on this guy. If you look around, you'll find a few bits of it... the way to put them together is also in the keep, and infact near where one of the bits was kept. This weapon is so useful, it's often called Ages - that's how long you can keep it for before it becomes less useful. And if you have TOB, it can become even *more* useful, and by the end can even hit the final boss.
