wtf, either IW or my comp is throwing a little tantrum and not letting me post.....

anyway, what I tried to say (and I hope it really doesn't show up here twice which would be just my luck) is that I ended up just doing the whole map with my pc. she's a kensai and I had her boosted with mind protecting spells, the ring of free action, and cloak of mirroring. she cleaned house while the other 5 hung out at the door. luv my kensai

About the destoning: Remember the Ring of Earth Control from D'Arnise Keep that you probably have (due to it's stacking AC bonus). That ring also has a single destoning charge per day. Wonderful item, really.

If the beholders decide to get up close and personal this wont do anything so i usually send just my mage in with spell protections such as from magical weapons etc and they cannot hit you while you are casting spells - if you have a fure sheild and fire resistances multiple fireballs on them help

Not that I've tried it, but arent hasted skeleton warriors any good against beholders?

MR% is good, combat ability is good... would it work?

They work against gauths, but beholders and elder orbs have a horrible habit of casting Death Spells against summoned creatures. This makes summons good for a distraction, not as a main fighting force.
