OK, Dundee, you have my complete agreement. Two things convienced me - word 'Playstation' (they make only arcades, and even PS RPGs are quite different from PC ones - take Final Fantasy for instance) and the first screenshot - one with a MANA BAR!!!!

Still while Final Fantasy are more action than tactics it still has a good roleplaying element and an exciting world to explore with lots of interaction.

My bets is that this one will be an action bang with little or no character interaction and interaction with your surroundings BESIDES COMBAT, LOOTING AND THE OCCASIONAL VISIT TO THE WEAPON SHOP.

And regarding the mana bar: The only D&D class that use mana points is the psionicist for Bhaal's sake!!!

I don't think that the char shown there was psionist. And I don't think the ruleset used in that Dark Aliance was AD&D. Finally, I don't think the game is somehow different from Dungeon Siege and the like. BTW, has Micro$oft participated in making the Dark Aliance?

That suggestion is far too sensible for anyone on these forums to come out with :D

well if anyone would actually go to the Official BG forums, you'd see that some fan keeps putting up a post for people to sign a petition for Bioware to make BG3. and this "when's BG3 coming out?" kinda post shows up ALL the time.

basically, it goes like this.... with the new publisher for Bioware, and the legalities of the ADD license the Baldur's Gate storyline is destined to be buried. Bio can't make it without Interplay who held the licensing rights from TSR/Wizards and TSR/Wizards can't do anything because of Bioware holding certain rights. it's a stalemate.

it's also beyond me why anyone would think that gamefaqs was any kind of reliable source for info like this anyway. its like believing that EBWorld knows better than the developer when a game will be released. *looks sad*
