For the same reason that the various dragon fighting implements show up in his dungeon. Every dragon likes to store stuff you can kill him with near himself. Heck, at least he was smart enough not to leave Carsomyr floating somewhere in the dungeon. </font>[/QUOTE]I don't find the presence of Carsomyr too much of a stretch. Any dragon that could take away such a potent weapon that can be wielded by Cavaliers would *SNAP* it up (along with whichever unfortunate Paladin had possesion of it). Also smart to keep it close by so no sneaky Cavalier can find it and use it against him. Part of a dragon's vanity would lead them to stockpile lots of good dragonslaying equipment in their hoard. That way, if someone does manage to kill them, they will be able to kill lots more dragons too. Nothing worse than being remembered as that one dragon that got killed by Bumbling Bob, who was eaten by a hatchling a week later. At least if you get killed by a famous dragonslayer, you have the chance of being remembered as a mighty wyrm.
On the other hand, leaving so many items of fire resistance lying around in the outer dungeon was not so smart (maybe he's really confident in himself, and wants there to be one unburnt morsel left in every party that attacks him...That or Tazok wasn't as loyal as he seemed, and was setting some things aside, just in case)
