SixOfSpades, the new time limit on edits was instituted by Ziroc recently to keep people in *ahem* certain forums *cough* from being able to flame others then come back in and change what they had done. Unfortunately, it has to be done globally, so you'll have to post a new message if the time limit has expired.

It's good to see you still around, Six! I've been absent for a couple of months, but am trying to get back involved in the forums. Hope things have been going well for you!

Regarding Edwin,

Isn't there a cursed ring or Helmet of Change Alignment or Opposite Alignment out there...? Converting him to Good would seem to be the best of all worlds.

Butterfingers 04-25-2003 04:19 PM

I can't stand Edwin. I just don't like him.

Nalia and Aerie are both better mages.

How does a good character justify Eddy in his party? How does a good character keep him? Go out and wack a peasant? Oh yeah, that's roleplaying.

Even better question, why on earth would a Ranger, (Archer) allow a Chaotic Evil character into his group when he is sworn to defend all that is kind and good?

I wish there were more consequences in this game.

...if only you were a Hockey fan, there'd be about a Billion combacks to that statement. (About the only way the Rangers are getting into a Stanley Cup game is via Ticket Scalpers...lol)

Have I missed something here? What thief?

Jan. He's an illusionist/thief, so he's strong enough in thief to do all the lock picking and trap disarming, plus can back up mage quite nicely. You can find him in the Government District.

Well, I suppose if it's justified, then it's justified, although 30 minutes might be rather short. After IronDragon edited his post (or Dundee did, whichever came first), I was going to go edit my own, so that Taran wouldn't even know what he was in danger of being spoiled *about*. Personally, I'd prefer something like a 6- or 12-hour window, so that if I design a weapon, and then decide I want to tinker with the specifics (such as I did with the Gravedigger), I can do so without posting all over again.

You too! Yep, I'm still active around here, running around like a Blinded, Hasted Gibberling....watch out for the trees! *WUMF* I'm still pumping out MOD ideas, and brace yourself: Alson, Dundee and I are on the verge of actually *making something.* Shocking, no? ;)

As for the "X doesn't fit in my party," there's something to be said for not knowing what Alignment they are. You can't exactly walk up to Korgan, read the tag on the inside of his collar, and say, "Well, I see you're Chaotic Evil, so you can go play in a blast furnace for all I care." (Unless you're a Paladin, of course.) You'd have to keep him in the party for a while, gauge his dialogues with Aerie and Mazzy, and then tell him to go to hell.

There's also the idea of carrying along a dysfunctional party member in the hopes that by acclimatizing them to your point of view, you can get them to change their ways.

Or you could be roleplaying an open-minded character, who doesn't mind interacting with those of different races/opinions....unlike a certain Paladin we all know.

And, last but not least, there's the tried & true method of having someone in your party for the sole purpose of doing something unbelieveably horrible to them at some point down the line. :D
