Axe; I don´t know why but of some reason I don´t really like blunt weapons except for staffs.

Staff, Short Bow, or paired Short Swords. I'm also seen with an Axe from time to time, but that's rare.

Long sword, as they tend to be among the more powerful weapons
Long bow, for better range
Mace or Flail, depending on the BG game - tend to be deadlier than hammers, imo

Dammit! I knew the answer but came too late! Anyone would recognize Olivier's work in Wuthering Heights... sheesh!

Blade: Two-handed sword. When you absolutely, positively, have to take its head clean off in one swing, accept no substitute. So what if in SOA a Katana does the same damage in one hand a full six speed factor points faster...

Axe or Warhammer: Hammer by a hair. I like Clerics, especially Fighter/Clerics, and I'm overjoyed with the weapon selection they get in SOA.

Bow: Longbow. The quintessential Elf and Ranger weapon. In SOA I especially like the flavor of Strongarm... I just wish its damage bonus matched the natural 19 strength damage bonus.
