IIRC yes,but I think he will turn hostile

Various Methods:

1) "Wait for us at the Copper Coronet:" Enter the C.C. via the "Joluv" door, Pause the game, have a character with Boots of Speed run up and re-recruit Yoshimo. He will die, and can be resurrected with no further difficulties. Will not work after BaldurDashing your game: When he dies, he's removed from the party.

2) "Stand right here and let us Petrify you." Can be done at any point in the game, even inside Spellhold itself. It might work, it might not. I've never attempted it myself.

3) "Hold still so we can kill you gently." Then, after the "betrayal moment" has passed, Resurrect him. Will not work--when Irenicus reveals himself, Yoshi is dropped from your party, whether dead or alive.

4) "Boot him & Run:" It might work, it might not--again, I've never tried it.

I don't understand "boot him and run"

Didn't Dundee say you could keep him by petrifying him in Brynnlaw?? It would seem, however, that if the Baldurdash fix stops you from getting him in the Copper it would prevent this as well.

Move him a good distance away from the party (or send him into some unimportand building) and kick him off the team. Then, quickly take the party elsewhere (such as moving to the Spellhold map) before he can come up to you and say, "Are you sure you want to go separate paths?" That way, he'll never go back to the Copper Coronet, and you can (theoretically) beat Spellhold, then go back to where you left Yoshimo, and he should (theoretically) walk up to you and ask if you wanted him to leave the party, and you can say "No, please stay with the group."

Imprisonment is very similar, tho I've never tested it.

For a character/party with the ability to cast Imprisonment in Chapter 4, you can sneeze your way through the game with or withOUT Yoshimo. (Then again, there is that nifty little Rune of Imprisonment, available as early as Chapter 2.....hmmm.....)
