Carlig is a Duergar, not a Svirfneblin. You can buy out the entire stock of the Svirfneblin Settlement and still have loads of gear at the Duergar Encampment and the 3 Drow Merchants in the Ust Natha Bazaar.

Provided that you ever got inside Ust Natha, you can ALWAYS go back. Always always always. (The only areas that you cannot return to are the House Jae'ellat and Jarlaxle's little pocket plane.) Of course, once the Matron Mother is dead, you have about 3 minutes left to buy scrolls before the city goes hostile, so I think you can kiss the 3 Drow Merchants goodbye. But Carlig is still worth a look-see.

I've just found one on the corpse of a bandit from the improved random encounters (comes with the tactics mod). The group that improves according to your level, that only attack at nightfall within Athkatla.

The CC guards have it approx. 80% of the time in my game -- not that that will really help you :D .

The tombs in the Graveyard District all have random loot, same with any Goblins/Kobolds/Gibberlings/Ogres that you come across.

A sure Mass Invisibility scroll is in the Sahugain City shop. I cannot remember whether I have seen the scroll in the Underdark but I can be wrong. Otherwise, you can find it as a random treasure.

Lately, I've relied solely on them to provide me with cash and Superior Healing Potions ;) And they're actually somewhat easy to kill if one acts quickly. Especially nice that they also spawn infinitly, since it appears that every single option but the random drop is closed to me.

Yes, the high level Random Encounters group is great fun. :D It's a tough fight if you're cought unprepared -- x3 Flame Arrow, Bounty Hunter's Traps and Insect Plague are all mighty. It pays off, though -- the XP is not too shabby, all their magical items are worth quite a few money in the long term, and, well... lets say that Clerics are now even more useless. :D

I have to say that there are some amazing clerical party buffers though. They may not be as powerful as say, Mass Invisibility or Haste individually, but stack Bless, Chant, Remove Fear, Defensive Harmony and Prot from Evil 10'Radius together and they'll make your party tough as nails. Holy Smite isn't too shabby either, I can wipe out most weak to semi-tough monsters in just a few castings, and I get lots of them with a PC with 21 WIS (BG1 Half-elf template) With two clerics (PC Ranger/Cleric and Aerie), HS clears areas fast! Not to mention the only spell you'll ever need before going to sleep - Greater Restoration, fully heals the entire party and gets rid of just about every negative effect one can think of. It's faaan-tastic baby!
Though it all naturally works best in conjunction with the arcane powers ;)

About Triple Flame Arrows, probably one of the nastiest sequencers I've been subjected to by an enemy. Just a single sequencer inflicted 173 pts of damage on Keldorn, and naturally killed him permanently in an instant. God bless the quick-save! ;) )

Yeah, yeah, i know, they're all half decent... But Arcane spells are simply better. +1 ApR trumps +1 THAC0, etc... This discussion has been done to death between me and Butterfingers.
