Nope, not really. If the females have to play sex objects the males bloody well should too.

Actually I had this wicked idea about a Chainmail Bikini mod that would change all the character avatars to scantily clad improbabilies.

Besides, wouldn't we all like to see Minsc in a Tarzan outfit?

Would bring new meaning to:
"Ooooh, Boo is getting squirrely."

Maybe I'm odd, but I say number 2. The paladin in NWN was just way too hot for her own good.

LOOK BOO! NUTS!

SixOfSpades 02-03-2003 07:47 PM

Now that's what *I'd* call a bad case of Armor Chafe....good thing Aerie knows what to do with that salve! :D

Butterfingers, I must officially Wing Buffet you across the room and curse you with the Calimshite Itch and the Amnian Amorous Affliction for making me laugh so hard.

Personally, I'm for form-fitting platemail (with padding inside, of course), although leather has its merits too. Bascially, I'm dead-set against every Boris Vallejo female I've ever seen, and then there are depictions where the woman is only HALF armored--such as the "Knight of the Rose" avatar on our very own Ironworks forum. I've also seen a woman wearing full chainmail--except for the 12-inch wide, round hole in her armor, right in the middle of her chest. But it was okay, see, because she had made a little sign, "Please don't shoot me here."

I am never comfortable having my female characters dressed skimpily. It just does not make sense. I rather have my ladies fully decked out in sturdy metal armour and brandishing swords and shields.

IWD1 has an excellent full-body portrait of a female Fighter clad in proper armour. BG2 has one good one too, but it only shows the face and a bit of the upper torso.

Even when they are Mages or Bards, I prefer them to be dressed conservatively. Until I see soldiers fight in bikinis and/or underpants, I see no reason why my characters should as such.

Well, the whole 'hot D&D chick in metal bikini' mentality is the same thinking that stops people who play PNP from allowing their characters to be overweight or unattractive at all... Which is why when I play I make all my pc's realistic. Come on, do you think every bard in the world is a suave charmer? I'd say more likely all those hours playing the flute while the barbarians were out swinging swords left him with a little more gut than most player characters would like to admit to... especially in the middle ages, when baths were as frequent as the seasons changing, if you were lucky! And as far as females go, let's just say that we're lucky to have attractive character portraits to choose from in BG, cause most women who take up adventuring aren't exactly the Victoria's Secret models we have in our parties. But that's just my opinion. I'm the same guy who played a female paladin with a strength of 18/93 PNP... nothing attractive about a woman so buff she can beat Minsc at arm wrestling lemmie tell you! Not to mention it was my first female character EVER who had to buy all her own drinks hehe

bodhi's a vampire they have magic protections, giving them a naturally low ac.

karlosovic 02-04-2003 08:41 AM

oh come on!!
anyone who saw conan the barbarian knew he was tough just because he could go charging into battle wearing nothing but a loin cloth.
The same with women. you know lara croft kicks indiana jones any day of the week, because she can go tomb raiding and still come out looking good, while he comes out covered in spider webs, mud and rat crap... and he's *always* bleeding somewhere. I mean, what kind of hero gets beat up ?

Armour ?! pffft, who needs it ?
