huh? GET THEM BOTH! it's easy to do...start with a kensai, and go do nalia's keep...get it, level up to 13 then dual to a thief...then get your theif guild. You can get both when you're multiclassed, as well, as long as you get Nalia's first. It's great being the lord of a keep, and the leader of a shadow guild. You dont really get the awe you deserve from people..."OMG LORD GUILDMASTER RHAPSODY!" mwa ha

I think it's the Baldurdash patch rather than the official which removes dual strongholds, but still, don't do it.

I don't have a patched game, but i decided not to get the guild. I'd rather have the +3 shortsword. I am doing great in my game. I'm level 17 right now and about to go get Bhodi for the first time.

whats involed with the planar sphere being your stronghold?

never got it though (aint that a magic fan)

trying to go solo sorc. now a daysz but didn't started it :D

Well, after you complete the quests in the Planar Sphere as you usually would, and Whatshisname (Lavok? been ages since I played) dies, he will bequeath the Sphere to you.
Next thing you know there are three apprentices popping up that can make items for you. Depending on which items you order them to make, one or more of them may die. If you manage to keep them alive throughout, you'll get a graduation ceremony. After that, one of the apprentices will return to you to make you potions. That's pretty much it. Of course actually *getting* the Planar Sphere is a bigger quest, but all character classes can do it, they just don't get offered the Sphere in the end.
