it is a total conversion. It starts with some orcs attacking you and then basically follows the storyline from the book: you retreat in the caverns and have to fight your way out later. you play with aragorn, legolas and gimli and lots of other characters which you can only let attack not choosing their weapons and such so sort of elementals only people yhis time

Throrgrim 12-05-2002 10:43 AM

lol, my main char is called aragorn ne ways! aragorn portrait, level 23 fighter (originally thorgrim)
lol lol lol

The Silmarillion is Tolkien's first novel in Middle Earth. It wasn't actually published until after his death and was as rare as hen's teeth until the movie hype started. It's a complicated story with many characters but gets better and better as you re-read it. I've read it four times and would probably learn something new if i picked it up again. If you're interested, you can find it and many more of Tolkien's lesser known works here

Edit: Oh yeah, and there's not a single freakin' hobbit to be found!

If you ask me The Silmarilion reads a lot like the Bible. But I think that's meant to be the point isn't it?

Actually most of Tolkien's works were "rare" before the movie came out... they were commonly overlooked by a lot of people. Of the three (Hobbit, LoTR, Sil) The Silmarillion was the most difficult to find, but that's not saying much, as you could find it in any large bookstore, and most small ones.
And technically, there are Hobbits in the Silmarillion, in the last section "Of The Rings of Power and The Third Age".

When I say Silmarillion, i refer to "Quenta Silmarillion" and not any other works which are often bundled with it.
