I can only support making all guns illegal if we make all guns illegal for everyone, including law enforcement and military. Of course it would take law enforcement and military guns [img]graemlins/rambo.gif[/img] to get all the illegal guns from the evil/criminal [img]graemlins/finger.gif[/img] people we dont want to have guns in the first place. Law abiding citizen here in America [img]graemlins/usa.gif[/img] would take up sticks, knives, and pepper spray, [img]graemlins/starwars.gif[/img] therefore will still be bearing arms like our constitutional right. So after we shut down all the gun-factories and de-gun [img]graemlins/hippysmile.gif[/img] the world we can arm cops with shock tazers [img]graemlins/shooter02.gif[/img] and foam cannons [img]graemlins/shooter06.gif[/img] like on the discovery channel and we will all live happily ever after. BTW I vote no. I dont own guns. Never even fired one. Never have, never will.

You should be able to have handguns to defend yourself otherwise any big thug can storm your home with a baseball bat and rob you blind. They need to restrict the power of the guns civilians can own though. No desert eagle sized handguns that is just overkill. A beretta or a glock should get the job done and only sell rifles and shotguns to people with hunting licenses otherwise they dont need them.

Guns should be banned. Why? because the only people who use them are a few farmers, and criminals.

If you own a gun you must be:
1) a farmer who lives a long way away from everyone, and couldnt do much harm with it.
2) a criminal. Someone who is going to hurt people with it, or threaten people etc.

and dont give me any crap about how you need to defend yourselves, if you shoot someone you have murdered them, be it in self-defence or not.

That’s a weighted question and biased since you do not allow for certain guns to be kept for hobby purposes, as they are in Britain, which has some of the tightest gun control laws in the west today.
In Britain for example, not all guns are illegal and you are allowed to own some if you can prove the need for it.

Have you ever seen the murder rates per 100,000 for the U.S.A versus other countries?
In 1976 for the U.S. it was 9.1, but in England and Wales 1.1.
Also in 1981 62.4 % of mureders in the U.S.A were committed with guns.
It seems the less guns you have, the less murders you get.

Yes that is true, we dont have that many guns in NZ, and after two murders within a week, done by the same person, its made national headlines nearly every day this week.
