Heh, heh... ergh?

My microeconomics professor spoke in such a thick accent I really didn't know what he was talking about (but perhaps it was my fault). I eventually dropped the class after a month or so. :)

My instructor spent all of his time talking about beer and how wrong environmentalists are...and he didn't even try and relate either subject to Microeconomics (that would at least have made it a little more tolerable).

Groan... Not another liberal-hating conservative-head! I am sick of those people... Blah blah, scientists say that global warming is a natural thing, yadda yadda... The same old spiel. Quite tiresome, really... (I hate group mentality.)

Well, since I am working in that climate science sector I have to say that man-made global warming is most probabaly a real thing, however, people often ascribe things to it that are indeed caused by natural effects. This is certainly a very complex topic. What I want to say is that group mentality is a danger lurking in every group.

Yes - I do think that it is possible that global warming is a natural thing and thus we cannot do anything about it - but on the other hand, I think it is foolish to say so and then just pick the proverbial nose while watching the Earth fry itself...

If we try hard to avoid global warming, and in the end it is futile, well, we tried...

But if we do nothing to avoid global warming, and in the end people say "we could have done that!" then we will regret it...

He's even worse than a conservative head - he's a pseudo-libertarian head. :) Pseudo-libertarians are people that talk about how great libertarianism is, but still want government to do special things for them personally...makes me angry b/c they generally start a conversation with "You're not smart enough to understand the complex economic issues." I hate people that assume that I'm stupid, 'cause it turns out that I'm not. :)

You could retort, "you're not smart enough to formulate your own opinions," or maybe just "yeah? You wanna say that to my face?" :D

The only good part of this class was walking out the door that last time after I finished the final. :D But, I left knowing that I had made it abundantly clear to him that should my grade not be what I felt was fair, that I'd be back with the Dean of Students in tow. :D I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say that he often lost people's homeworks and tests and would give some a 100% when he couldn't find the assignment and others a 0%...

100% or 0% is quite a bit jump there... :o If he lost it, 100% is better...

My thoughts exactly. :) We'll just have to wait and see how the grades come out.
