Goodness. This is a bit of a mess, isn't it?

Ruby? You out there? What do you have to say about this?

Morgeruat 04-22-2004 11:42 AM

Sorry Larry, Ruby and I are in the middle of a move, as the resident rules lawyer, I would rule a were-animal out of the "natural animal or woodland creature" bit that druids can learn to speak to, however to quote the monster manual "Weretigers speak the languages of all feline breeds" Since Tao can communicate with natural cats in their own language - she could speak "cat" to it, and it would understand and be able to respond in kind, not true telepathy between her and it, but sort of like two people; one who speaks japanese, and one who speaks english but both speak some french, they could hash it out in the 3rd language.

... I hope that makes sense.

Dang good distinction, Morg. Thanks.

A question to Arcades, or someone who knows the rules:
If my character wanted to mindspeak with Arcades's could he start the mindspeach link, or does it have to be the one who has the power to use mindspeech who has to start the link?

Larry_OHF 04-22-2004 06:53 PM

<font color=skyblue>This rule of mindspeech and telepathy and animal conversations is dominating this game...Can we get this resolved finally?

What needs to be done to satisfy everyone? Just name it so we can play the game. Is it really that big of a deal?

Please...I want out of the decision. I can't handle it because I do not know. Whatever you guys decide will be fine with me.

That is all I will ever say about it. Once you guys decide, I hope to never hear about it again.

Oh yeah... :D ...I am still smiling...but gritting my teeth.

TAOWolf 04-22-2004 07:31 PM

I agree with Larry.. whatever you decide you want to do, let me know....

Q: Why am I splitting the group into 2 groups?

A: I am sure that 10 people cannot travel well together, due to too many players on one quest, and that we would have that many more people to wait on to post before a round had been made. This way, five and five can faster move, and each person can have more stuff to do. Imagine what would happen if there was you and nine companions and I attacked with a Giant. When you log on, you would see that 7 of the ten players had each in their own post personally killed the same giant, and the other two players had not yet gone into the cave where the blamed thing was! It would be one helluva mess. So...five and five.

<font color=silver>For those unfamiliar with the Windbringer and his story, my apologies for any unexplained elements in my post. One of the prices paid to save the Forums in the last LOF installment was the disruption of the storylines in Tavern by the Creek so that the Devouring Wind could be removed from IronWorks. The Windbringer, however, promised KayLisa [TAO’s character] that he would aid her in the lifting of the curse that is upon her – thus my post directly affects at least one participant in the present game. Since I am leaving next week for a couple months of working outside of the US, I asked Larry if it would be OK for me to initiate the sequence of the Windbringer’s healing and preparation to return – which needs to take some time given the severity of his wounds – before leaving so that things would be in place to pick up this other trajectory of the larger story upon my return.

This also gives me a convenient excuse for a quick farewell to those I’ve gamed with here and to wish everyone a great gaming experience as the story moves forward.

Good gaming!
