Haven't got that far myself, but I remember Bardez posting on the subject. However he handles it, its got to be contrived.

Bub snikt is known from ages ago. Should be fixed in patch 1.7.

When you installed the patches, did you copy the dialogue.tlk into the main folder? If not it will be in your override folder.

I think the improved battles are optional. Ascension also adds more dialogue to certain NPC's, allows Imoen to get the Bhaal powers you had in BGI and early BGII, and the PC to obtain more advanced divine powers. It also improves The Slayer.

Patch 1.7 didn't contain any updates for dialog.tlk, actually... So I suppose it'll be fixed with the next patch.

But if they're built inside the entire mod, how are they optional, then? Where exactly do I have the opportunity to change any Ascension mod settings? And if I simply have to remove files from the override folder, I realy hope they won't mess up the rest of the game (as pretty much the entire BG1-part is placed in the very same override folder).

Perhaps, but I don't want to risk removing some vital parts of the BGT-mod during the installation of Ascension... Thanks for the advice, though.

It might be possible, youd have to look at the ascension installer and see how it all works. Then you'd need to restore anything that was overwritten when ascension was originaly installed and remove all ascension components.

Its not hard, just mind-numbingly tedious. Unless the dialogue.tlk needs altered, then its both hard and mind-numbingly tedious.

And in that case, not worth the trouble. ;) I don't know, I'd also read somewhere in one of the readme-files that you can't even use your BG1-created character in the ToB-part; and adding to that the fact that not much will be added to BG2 itself now that you can't carry over your BG1-party, I have the feeling I'll be bored with BGT long before the Ascension mod will rear its ugly head for the first time. ;)

You should be able to use a BG1 character in ToB, the problem is that you cant use the import screen, you have to run through SoA.

Ah... Weird he decided to include that particular mod then, a bit annoying as well. Personally I don't care much for all the tougher enemies; I have to admit I prefer the Bhaalspawn just as they are (some were easy, some were difficult enough as they were). While I can understand why others want more of a challenge out of their battles, I mostly play for fun purposes, not to be smeared across the floor during the first 20 attempts just because I didn't use The Ultimate Tactics or because the big baddie is suddenly firing off Imprisonments like a machine-gun (what do you mean, unbalanced and unrealistic?). I'm not that much of a sadomasochistic purist. ;) </font>
yes, well luckily the enemies arent made that much harder. even more luckily, none of them use improsonment, which is one of the most annoying spells in the game(no-save, bybass magic resistance and all that other funky stuff), basically, its a sure shot killer if you dont have spell immunity.(on top of that, all the really bad enemies are immune to it) only the final battle has been made REALLY hard, but i wont spoil anyone.
