Re: New Icons!

Yeah, I always liked the idea of "lost world" rather than muck with time travel and the paradox problems. However one of my favorite Sci-fi stories was about time travel, called "the sound of thunder" (where the ppl were hunting dinosaurs that were doomed to die anyway).

You could even do like the underwater-underdark as a good locale for this creature. Perhaps this would be a modified version of an Aboleth. They like to tinker with humanoid slave genetics, to create humaniod/fish slaves (I always thought the aboleth would be useable in something akin to a HP Lovecraft "Call of Ctulu" style horror mod)

Just more plotlines, for mods

Did someone mention Cthulu? :)

Telwyn, are you still about the forum?

I was just thinking about rewatching Hellboy today or tomorrow. :) If H.P. Lovecraft were alive today...I guess he'd be pretty old. :D

I loved the Lovecraft books, reading thru the ones my dad had in is collection with a quickness!! I want to buy his entire works someday! In an interesting related note, akin to the thought of fear and horror checks in ravenloft; there were some works about sanity (and loss thereof) in the ADnD collections at either Oliks or the roleplaying tips links

PS, more powerful than the confusion spell, a madness spell that makes you lose your mind!

Sanity seems like it would be hard to work into DC.

Yes, sanity already is hard to work in DC :D. No seriously, tho; you'd have to make more out of it outside of combat than inside combat, due to the fact that we don't have as much control over combat stuff as we will (need to) eventually

It also helps to knock the character down a notch or two, as we assume the noble unafraid conan-like persona with our heroes when in reality a 100 ft flying fire breathing lizard (don't forget with claws like spears) would give most of us pause to consider our life ;)

I remember seeing an anime where another arthropod (Anomalocaris, even older than euryperids :D ) occured as an old god/deity. I don't remember what all was about, but the idea is similar. You guys should really have a look at cambrian arthropods if you want to design weird monsters/demons. Might also be interesting for funky dynamite (looking for a villain).

Hey Uatu, I just noticed that the creatures of the outer planes are gone from their previous page. Does this mean that they are getting their own page? :D

Yes, the "other icons" page is getting out of hand :P so I moved them to their own page! (It's the link just one or two lines below... ;) )

Glasya's icon is very nice. :D I think some of my PCs may wish to travel to Hell just to see if they can bump into her. ;)

Ha ha... If you are going to fight a boss, you might as well enjoy it! ;)
