Jena covered her hand with her mouth in a brief moment of shock "Galein..." Her voice trailed off. She knew, deep down inside, that Galein felt an utter hatred for these men that had attempted to murder her, and she knew he felt as though their lives must be ended. But as she glanced from one corpse to another, a wave of nausea coarsed through her. Her face grew slightly pale, and she quickly turned her face away from the sight of the bodies.
"Hey..." She stood behind Galein, and spoke softly in an attempt to calm him. [ 03-14-2005, 06:33 PM: Message edited by: TheMuse ] |
Turning to face her, Galein's face was completely calm - a sea of still within a world of chaos. He was completely composed, not in the least bit detatched, but his aura was still chill. "Yes?" He asked, his tone normal, as though he were discussing the weather. Then he added, "You're late."

Gently Jena placed her right hand on Galein's shoulder and lowered her head but still managed to make eye contact with him. "Thank you," was all she simply said in a soft, grateful tone. Releasing her hand from his shoulder, she turned away and glanced around.

Fairioni looks at Galein and slows in her walking, an worried expression on her face as she looks at him "Something wrong Galein? You look.. a bit odd." Fairioni is clearly ready to walk up. She's also worried about them [ 03-15-2005, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: Saliarasri ] |
Galein smiles sweetly and assures Fai that nothing is wrong, yet the icy-merciless does not leave his eyes. He gestures for her to lead the way.

Fairioni blinks and starts walking, her staff's gem glowing pink and black.
Fairioni is walking really fast. Really fast. |
"I've still some... hunting to do. I'll catch up to you." Galein spoke, still as though he was discussing the weather... there was no doubt in anyone's mind exactly what he meant, nor that he would fail in his attempt to do it. After all, this was an elven prince who had been defending his people and his kingdom... for decades. That he was practised at this was becoming painfully obvious. Jena had to wonder if he was some sort of woodland stalker-assassin type...

Faironi nods as she keeps walking, really fast. She wants to get this done, or something like that. "Good luck."
She grins as she walks on "I'll tell you all about the troll and dragon later if you don't catch up." Fairioni keeps walking, starting to hum a tune. [ 03-15-2005, 12:10 PM: Message edited by: Saliarasri ] |
Jena frowned at Galein’s words. She turned once again to face him, and grabbed hold of his shoulders firmly yet gently. “Stop this, you! Enough people have already died, and many have suffered greatly, and we have all paid the price for what has happened! No more killing!” Jena sighed deeply and as she did she raised one hand to her brow and wiped it with the backside of her hand. “We have things that need to be taken care of, and we cannot waste time any longer. Your people need you.”
She paused and slid her right hand down the side of his shoulder and eventually took his hand in hers. “I need you…” Jena tilted her head to the side and through a dirty face she smiled. “If we are to begin a new life with a fresh start, what good will it do to live by our old ways? We must make a conscious effort to want to change for the better.” Pausing, she intertwined her fingers in his, “You are a strong leader, Galein. You have the potential to make something great of yourself, and I believe in you as I am sure others do as well. We make our own tomorrows, and if we do not desire to live our pasts then we need to overcome all obstacles and hindrances that are preventing us from moving on. Elven nature never changes, nor does human nature, for that matter, and violence, though often times unavoidable and necessary can be controlled and conquered.“ When she was done, Jena simply released his hand, and removed her left hand from Galein’s shoulder, and took a step back to observe his reaction. |
Galein did not say a word for a long moment, instead, spinning and facing Jena with a look that could freeze molten magma. "Understand," he began softly, "That if I allow them to flee and escape, they will prey upon more innocents. You think that you were the first they would have harmed? I won't let more predators stalk my land and harm my people." Galein paused, and added, "As to other things... I can catch up faster then you can travel as a group. As you have stated, human nature never changes, and that means they will harm innocents. I'm doing as I must, no more, no less."
Galein's tone was less then warm, but it was patient. |
