I might go for the Turks...I've always wanted to be called Suleiman... :D :D

I was planning to play a game as the German holy roman empire next, just because it's the most difficult area to attack otherwise. There's simply no way that you can keep the entire front line occipied when going through German territory, requires too many troops because of the high number of regions you have to occupy, I hate it.
Besides, they get gothic units in the late era, they rock. But if you insist on playing as muslims, I'd say that all 3 of them are equally good. But in the late game it really is the catholics that shine if you ask me. |

Hey, I found this great site which allows you to compare each unit and see the chances of victory/defeat for each. Gee those Teutonic Knights look pretty mean.
Check it out! Unit Comparison Guide |
Erm... that's a chinese link... with no links. I'm guessing it's a chinese page gone bad, and that this is the chinese 404 error.

The link's right, but the site seems to be down at the moment. Try again a bit later, it's well worth it.

I found a small program for the same purpose, apparently the gothic foot knights are the best unit in the game. They can even take down the gothic knight. Is anyone else wondering why they'd even bother with the horse then?

Try the Almohads MagiK.. they're one of my favourite factions to play as.
The pigs in Rome you actually set on fire and send them towards the Elephants..but they can also turn and run right into your own men as well. The best thing to use against the elephants in the demo (if you picked up the play as Romans mod) is light troops and skirmishers in a loose formation.. that is if you can manoevre yourself into a position to attack Hannibals army in such a way. |
I've played two full campaigns with the Turks myself, and i found them easy to play. From early on i allied with the Egyptians, so i didn't have to worry about my back, and i attacked the Byzantines who have large lands and are quite vulnerable in the beginning. I conquered all their lands and stopped my advance after sacking Constantinopel. From there i concentrated on beefing up, and preparing for the inevitable Mongol invasion, chopping my former allies the Egyptians to bits in the meantime. Piece of cake. :D
Btw... did anyone try that link i posted earlier in this thread ? I'm curious if anyone played it yet, and what their opinion of it is. |
I've played the Hellenic mod before.. i didn't really like it that much but it was ok. I also tried the Napoleonic one which was not that good.
The best mod for Medieval imho is the Medmod because of the much better balance it offers. [ 08-26-2004, 03:19 PM: Message edited by: Djinn Raffo ] |
