Since your talking about the Silmarillion ( i dont think thats how you spell it, but anyway) I was wondering if someone could please tell me what its about, obviously tolkien wrote it but ive never read it and Ive heard people talk about it but I still cant figure out what its about... </font>

The Silmarillion is a strange book, written by J.R.R.Tolkien, but not published in his lifetime. His son, Christopher got it together from JRRT's notes, and published it in 1977. It is composed ot "Ailundale", a Creation myth that introduces the Valar, the angelic beings that are the "gods" of the first through third ages, and Melkor, better known as Morgoth, who is, as close as possible, Satan. "Quenta Silmarilion" tells the story of the awakening of the Eldar, the Elves, and how they spit into various tribes, and how Morgoth stole the Silmarils, jewels in which Feanor, an Elvish smith and all-around bad boy, had caught the light of the Trees of the Sun and the Moon, and the Elves efforts to settle Middle-Earth, recover the gems, and overthrow Morgoth. "Akallabeth" tells the story of Numenor, and "The Rings of Power and the Third Age" tells of the events leading up to The Lord of the Rings.
