"My tone was to make sure you understood me, and I am sorry if it sounded harsh, but I have upsetting things that weigh on my mind."
Alae took over for him,"He is right, little cousin. We are only concerned for your saftey and want to make sure you are aware of the danger involved. More than silly drow and young foolish green dragons, for sure." "As for acting like your father, I couldn't compare, because I have never met him. But if thats how he is most of the time, I don't want to." He stood an patted Arlyth on the head, "Just mind your manners when in my hall, and this won't happen again." Alae smiled and hugged him, "As before, it is still your decision whether you wish to come or not. If you chose not to, we ask that you remain here, at least, with Sylquis." Alaerth in the meantime had moved over to the main door and effortlessly shoved the chest and drawers out of the way, then unlocked the door. He looked to his sister, who nodded, "We need to finish packing our things. If you wish to come, meet us in the stables." The twins turned and left. |
Gus decided to look into some of the nearby jugs for some water?
|
Arlyth swallowed, washed his face, gathered up his things, and cast Dimension Door back to where Sylquis was, and stood, waiting to talk to her. Arlyth's aunt walked over to him, and lead him away out of sight, out of earshot to a small storeroom where they could talk in peace. After a long conversation, and a severe scolding, Sylquis hugged her nephew, holding him close. Kissing his brow, she affecionatly stroked his hair, and caressed him. After several more words, Arlyth cast another Dimension Door to the stables, and Sylquis followed him through. There they both waited for Arlyth's cousins; Sylquis's arm around the boy's shoulders.

Gus poked his finger into the jug and began swirling it around, he continued to do so about 40 times then quickly snapped his hand back, a spiraling cork-screw shaped string of water shot out of the jug and solidified. Gus placed his palm on each end and then mashed it together between his palms. He grinned mischeviously... and decided to look for some Stairs...
|
A servant gave a rather lost looking Gus the following directions: "Just take, oh, the door to the right. Go down the passage, and then take the right T juncion. Follow that left, til you reach the *grand staircase*" Soon Gus was there! At the Grand staircase!
|
Gus looked up the long staircase, completley awestruck, Then ran to the top. He then outstretched his arms letting the water spring down from hsi hand and bob up as he declared "Behold the power of kinetic energy!!" he then released the object made out of still-spelled water onto the first step, it coiled forward and proceeded down the stairs, one at a time, spring, sproing, spring... and then it stopped...
Gus paused... "Darnit all!" He then gave it a tip and it proceeded forward, at which poitn he outstreched his arms again and laughed meniacally. "Muwahaha! BEHOLD! For I have released the power potential energy!" Gus got his face close to the magical object as it continued to roll down the stairs, grinning from ear to ear, observing the object with as much content as a genasai could. "Just look at it... Science in motion... so beautifull... it takes me back to childhood... NAY... TO the PRIMORDIAL SOUP!!! ... uh oh..." it had stopped again... "come on..." after giving it another push it rolled once and stopped again, then collapsed into a tube... "there we go..." Gus pushed it again this time looking perturbed, and it only went down two stairs... "GRRR Darnit all!" he stood up, looking at it angrily, stamped on it and made it decentergrate into water which rolled down the stairs and was eventually absorbed by the carpet... "humff..." Gus was bored of being bored... he decided to go to the stables and see what sorts of animals the locals rode around one... "I wonder if they figured out how to tame Aberliths..." He decided he'd ask the same castle guard for directions again... he wasn't the clearest of minds but he obviously had some experience with working his rounds around the castle. |
Instead of a guard, Gus found the twins, both garbed in dark silvers and greens with packs over the shoulders, on their way to the stables. Both gave him identical smiles and told the mage to follow them.
Arlyth recieved the same smiles when the twins spotted him, and Alaerth pulled Sylquis aside to give her final instructions while stable boys ran about getting the horses ready. (ooc-i hope gus knows how to ride ) The twin's silver-coated gold-maned horses, Moon Shadow(Alaerth's stallion) and Star Shadow(Alae's mare), descendents from Verloren's Wind Shadow, nickered happily at seeing the twins, more than ready to go on some adventure. After securing the packs on the saddles, Alaerth boosted himself up into the saddle and looked around at them, "Alliene awaits us at the bottom of father's mountain. If there is nothing else, we will go." |
"wow... Its like... A wingless pegasus..." He looked at it from all sides. "Ive read about these... horses yes... like spider horses only with 4 legs... and kind of like mules but... not as slow... they say you just get on ones back like so and..." pulling himself onto the saddle he patted it on the back. "Good boy... now um do they spread wings or... what?"
|
Alae giggled, "They move their legs, see?" She clucked to Star Shadow and the mare walked forward, "But you don't have to do much. Your horse will follow ours."
|
"so we're riding on beasts that do the walking for us...",Gus thought, "A little lazy... But I'm willing to give it a try..."
He gave the reigns a gentle tug and commanded,"noedo Kubatsa" ... ... ... "Ok I guess you'll just follow them then..." He shrugged and crossed his arms... *edit italics* [ 09-20-2003, 11:53 AM: Message edited by: /)eathKiller ] |
