In a word - YES!!! Same punishment in Malaysia, Indonesia and several other places. There are 9 Australians sitting in jail in Bali that sometime next year are in for the same ending.

Actually in Malaysia its the firing squad not the noose.

Since when did malaysia got the firing squad? Malaysia also uses the death by hanging method. Same as Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and so on.

The noose makes more sense really, not as much of
A) Waste of ammunition
B) Mental impact on the executioners.

From what I have read the 9 Australians in Bali for drug smuggling are facing the fireing squad if convicted.
