Sugar School? Is that where you learn how to 'gimme some sugar, baby' http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif? Oh, poor old Davros, old being the operative word. So busy learning how to give sugar he couldn't go to uni until after he was 21 http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif Seems like a long time to have to learn about sugar http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif Were you slow, or just pretending to be bad at it so the sugar teacher would give you remedial? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

LOL, Sugar School is actually the Mackay School of Sugar at the local TAFE. I have an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Sugar Technology) http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. See, I am a scientist too (just so multi-talented - and modest http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif ) - ya didn nows dat didja http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif. They school churns out part chemist part engineers for the sugar industry. I worked there for as few years before going to UQ.

Oh no, a mortal wound http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif, I am being taunted about my age!!!! Shame on you young whippersnappers for picking on OLD COOTS like me - I thought our official eye candy would show a little respect http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. I had a bad typo in that last message - it should have read 60 classmates at UQ, not 10.

Now where would I find a yacht - oh there's one over there, moored in the canal - damn, not mine though http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. The AFL draw should be out in the next day r two - sure hope to finally get to see a Lions game at the Gabba http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif.

Sugar scientist, huh? Davros: 'what eez ziss leetle grain? Eez eet zee brown, or zee white? Let's put zee leetle fellow under zee microscope and see what he eez' http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif Glad we've got men like you on the case http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Okay so, you got a diploma in sugar (:rolleyeshttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif, worked in the sugar industry, THEN went to uni, and graduated, what, 9 years ago? Well, according to my calculations that make you.... really, really old http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/tongue.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif Oh of course, that's your walking frame! I thought you were just happy to see me http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Oh damn, when is Langer going to get a career ending injury or something? Cause you know he'll never be dropped again, not after that 'gritty' performance in England. Good to see Bichel in the side, but; as much as I despise him, a Queenslander is a Queenslander http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Gee, more taunts about age and zimmer frames now (sniff, sigh) http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif but I'm always happy to see you. Sugar - sucrose - surely you mean alpha 1-6 gluco pyranosyl beta 1-4 fructo furanoside (think that's its'proper name from memory http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif ).

The AFL draw is out, and it looks like I cannot offer you a ticket to the Gabba on the weekend of May 18 (Lions playing Collingwood at Colonial http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif ). LOL, I can offer you a free dinner (at the wedding I'm going to http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif ).

I will try and see if I can perhaps get there the weekend before - Lions are playing the Power on Sunday the 12th, then nip up to Mackay to visit the folks, then come back to Brissie for the wedding. That might work out. Then I could call into Melbourne and Adelaide on the way back home http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. That looks like the start of a plan - additional benefit, I will be there before Aelia's Birthday, so I can save on 21st Birthday presents http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif.

Langer is only keeping Slater out - I don't think they are seriously considering Maher at this stage. Matt the Bat still rules anyway. If you want to guess ages, I played rep cricket against Ian Healey in Juniors (and dismissed him for 98 - he opened in those days), my younger brother batted with AB and got to face a fired up Craig McDermott, and my youngest brother was once billeted with the Waughs, and chauffered all over Sydney by Mark. Just displaying my family's cricketing pedigree (oh and dad had an offer to go play with Ray Lindwall in Brisbane many years ago, but stayed on the farm instead).

Keep smiling (and swotting) http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

I don't care about Maher - anyone but Langer! He's so boring, and puny. Anyone whose greatest compliment to their batting is that they're gritty is not someone I want in the team. Slater, sure he runs out the Bat, at least he's interesting! Even Blewett (did I just say that http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/cwm27.gif?) Or Gilly could open, and Katich could bat at 7.

Hehe, don't worry, I accept early birthday presents http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

LOL, you accept early presents - that's good of you http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif .... so, interested in going to the footy or the wedding http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. Blewett - he is good against pace, but the spinners have him on toast - not willing to venture from the crease. Now now, remember that Langer and Gilly pulled that match out of the fire last year (Pakistan in Hobart) - need to give him a little credit gritty is good sometimes - OK, he's not Mr Charisma - bur we can't all be Davros http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif d http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif.

No, no, I can't be expected to make decisions about outings in May when it's only November (and only just)! And I'm not sure I can go out with you at all - are you a serial killer http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif? Do you lure unsuspecting and trusting females with promises of football and free meals only to maim then discard them? My mother wouldn't be pleased if that's what you've got in mind http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../ugone2far.gif

Yeah, I was just clutching at straws with Blewett. There must be SOMEONE better than Langer, but. And I'm sorry, but you don't need to be Mr Charisma, but you need some personality. Look at Warnie, a more lovable larrikin I've never seen. And Tugger! It still makes me laugh when I think of him saying England were the favourites for the Ashes, then coming the next day and saying he was just joking http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../1orglaugh.gif. What a character http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif! Langer, alas, has no personality at all. No bar fights, no excessive sledging, no suspected match-fixing... he's a disgrace to the Australian cricket-loving public http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif I still think Gilly could open. Or Martyn! Was that only last year that Langer and Gilly won that Hobart test? Seems like much longer than that http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/ponder.gif

What's this - can't be expected to make decisions http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif, hmm, I can see why your not studying on the Engineering side of campus LOL. Am I a serial killer - not that I remember...... well OK, come to think of it I do have a goal to pursue the ants that dig sand mounds up through my pavers. I guess I pursue them with genocidal fanatacism. Lure unsuspecting females - sounds like your pretty suspicious and on your guard http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif, does that make you unsuspecting??? No I am not the type to maim things (sighs and quietly hums a couple of bars of "I'm just a guy who's intentions are good, Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood"). The wedding sounds a bit out of line on my part (although had the advantage that dinner would have been free for both of us http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif ), but for a casual meeting, the football can be a meet there, say Hi, and leave type of thing. You may want to keep that in mind - even your mother may not have too many objections with that http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif.

Gee, young Justin just isn't on your good books at all is he. I guess I have to put up with a severely biased local press over here, and they sing his praises at every opportunity. They paper would always have 8-12 WA people in every teast side, and they are already talking up the Weagles for the top 8 next year. They are complaining that having to travel to Brisbane and Canberra just before the finals start puts them at a disdvantage in the play offs - LOL, they are my pick for the spoon this year they certainly won't be in the play offs.. And I'm sure it was only last year that the Pakistan test was played - seems like that, but years do so flash past for us older folk http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif.

Yep, this is what I was afraid of. It can start so innocently, a few ants, here and there, then you've got a plan to get rid of them. Then rodents, then the neighbour's cat who runs through your yard. Next thing you know, you're eyeing off a colleague at work, who annoys you just a little too much. Then you notice other people you could do without; irritating relatives, those people down the street that play loud music. And BOOM! you're a fully-fledged serial killer. I think you need to have a good hard look at yourself, you disgusting ant-killer! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif Well, we'll see, anyway http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Well the Pakistan match wasn't last summer, last summer we played West Indies (and wasn't THAT thrilling http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/rolleyes.gif?) It must have been the summer before that, hmm would that have been 2000 or still 1999? So I think it was really 2 years ago, almost.
