my record is 3526 kills for 86 troops lost . this and another similar defeat must have put a huge dent in the pope's self-esteem, he hasn't reappeared since :D

Well, I ran Rome TW on my PC and it worked fine, just the slightest bit of sluggishness but nothing noticeable. I'm going to have to get used to not having the bar at the top and at having to right-click instead of left-click.

Just downloaded the demo, and played that historical battle. There's not much that can go up against those warelephants, is there ? :D

Sheesh, how am i gonna beat that when i play the Romans myself ?

Btw... they have that same annoying rule as in Medieval, as long as there's one single enemy on the battlefield, you haven't won. I'm sure everyone who plays this game had one of those moments, your troops are searching all over the map for one or two forgotten ballista crewmembers or something like that.

You start with 800 units, the enemy starts with 1500. And no, you're not advanced, nor are you overpowered. Underpowered, if anything, because the Romans have some cool stuff aswell.

Well... in the Rome Total War Demo, after I killed the ennemy general and made the ennemy units run, they asked me if I wasted to stay and butcher or just leave.

StigTC 08-24-2004 07:32 PM

Yup, I noticed that too Luvian, no reason for the general to stay while your troops are scooping up the leftovers apparently.

I like the new scrolling feature that pans the camera when you lower down as well. Only thing that's confusing is that there are now a hell of a lot of flags on the field and it's a bit hard to work out who's who, but it looks awesome. :D

Back on my Medieval game, I restarted from an earlier save and have to conquer Petrivapol (or something??) near Volga Bulgaria again...bloody dying monarchs - there's nothing you can do if your monarch dies without an heir? What about the uncles etc with royal blood?

johnny 08-25-2004 03:51 AM

Nope, when there's no heirs, your bloodline dies, and your kingdom and armies will become rebels. In other words....game over. :D They already had those rules in Shogun Total War, and hasn't changed in Medieval. Kinda silly if you ask me, in real life, there were dozens of nobles, or even armygenerals lining up to take over the throne.

Yes, but your familly line is over, so your story is over.

Check this out guys, i just found this on another board.

It's a mod for MTW, it requires the Viking expansion though. Read the guidelines carefully, you may need to reinstal the game and get the latest patch, but it seems more than worth it. Be sure to check out the screenshots.
