Is that supposed to be:

Why, do you think you are?

or

Why do you think you are?

???

Isn't it open for interpretation?

I thought it meant "why do you think you are (wrong)", didn't you? I mean, isn't that what logically flows from it?

Are you all taking my words and twisting them? :P

Twisting them? Weren't we untwisting them, since you were so giddy from passing your driving test that you jumbled them up?

Shall we just conclude I don't make much sense? :D

Is there some reason we don't know of which means that we should conclude that you don't make much sense?

Weren't we checking punctuation, not logic?

Bungleau 06-19-2008 04:17 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Wouldn't that be grammar, and not logic? And punctuation-wise, wouldn't it work for either of the two grammatically-challenged options?

Wait... was that the sound of someone's head exploding from an excessive influx of pedantis narcissus? Where's Illumina when you need her?

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

But since I was questioning whether there was missing punctuation and not debating the linguistic gymnastics which deal with syntax, morphology nor even semantics it can't really be a matter of grammar, can it?
