Monks and Rangers, here.
I just like playing "support" classes, and it always feels like there's a lack of monks and rangers, so I'm doing something useful when I play, rather than just doing what everyone else does. When I play a Monk, I tend to do Healing with a side-order of Smiting or Protection, not really imaginative. When I play a Ranger, I tend to interrupt enemies and poison them. |
Well my three mains are a Warrior, Assassin & a Dervish. I prefer the melee classes and tend to ensure that they can all interrupt or remove stances so they can be more effective on the front line. They can all deal a number of conditions as well.

I was thinking of having a good at being a Ranger, how do you/what is interrupting?
Dervish? what is that? It's not in Factions is it... [ 01-12-2007, 08:06 AM: Message edited by: Target ] |
Dervish is a Nightfall class. They're a spellcasting melee class that uses scythes(Nightfall-only weapons that hit several enemies at once in melee.).
As for interrupting, there are two kinds of it. Some skills are "Easily Interrupted," any sort of damage while you are using the skill abruptly breaks it off. The status ailment/condition "Dazed" makes any "Spell" you cast be "Easily Interrupted." Secondly, some skills interrupt others. Either they just generically interrupt ANYTHING, or they only interrupt spells. Some of these also cause dazed or have additional effects when they interrupt(Slower recharge time, extra damage, causing a condition, etc.). Knocking down an enemy also interrupts whatever they're doing at the moment. Skills that interrupt anything can also interrupt generic attacks, which can save a caster's bacon, but doesn't do much otherwise. When you interrupt someone using a skill they still expend the energy cost and the skill must be subject to it's normal recharge time(Or more, in the case of some interrupts.). So basically, it's all about using an extra-recharge interrupt on an enemy's "spam" skill(Most players have a low-cost, general effect, fast-recharge skill that they use over and over again as a fall-back. Like Orison of Healing for Monks, Power Shot for Rangers, etc.). Locking down that means they have to rely on more specialized and costly abilities. Alternately, you can just interrupt said specialized and costly abilities so your enemies waste their Energy, plus have to wait half a decade for it to recharge. Generally all classes have at least one interrupt skill(Monks have a couple of knockdowns, rangers, assassins and warriors have straight-out interrupts, mesmers are good at interrupting spells, necros have a couple of interrupts(Usually ones that interrupt enemies when they're subjected to something special, like Spinal Shivers, a hex that interrupts enemies whenever they're hit by cold damage while affected by it.), elementalists have several knockdowns and I've never played ritualists, paragons(Another Nightfall class) or dervishes.). |
IS this the correct page to get the latest graphics drivers for a Sapphire-Radion 9700 graphics card?

DAm, tried those driver, and put in the extra memory also cleared the dust and fluff off fans, it lasted a bit longer then crashed.
I'll have to find time to back everything up then try XP. Does XP find the lastest drivers by its self? |
Try installing Speedfan and monitor your temps while playing.

Installed XP last night, hopefully I'll get some time to see if that helps soon
