250, Usually I aggree with your posts, however,
I don't believe I understand where racism came into this. After all, many African Americans fought for what they thought was right in the Civil War, next to white Americans.
Have you fought in any wars? Have you fought for another countries freedom to sit back and 'bitch' as you say?

I for one don't have a problem with American's complaining ( as I doubt Rahnin does) I think what he and I are saying, is that we should not be airing our dirty laundry to other countries!

After all, do all of you who posted about your relatives being in wars for America believe they would have sat next to you while you made your posts without being upset at you saying these things to other countries?

I for one think that they would have knocked your blocks off considering they died to better this country and not so that their heirs could put it down on a worldwide forum!

If you have something to say, say it to your government, as posting here isn't going to solve anything! I know I don't speak for all American's here. My worst fears are finally recognized, patriotism is dead...shame on you!

those people who complain, are just like the blacks who fought for their position in this country, to a lesser degree maybe.

that is what I meant. if you are back then, you wouldn't go out the street and tell these black people to "pack and leave" right? so you should not do this to those who are complaining today. From my understanding, both these groups are for the better of this country. and yes, because of those who fought and died for this country, blacks and the fellow countrymen today can have their voice heard. I believe the soldiers and the citizens share the same wish.

lilaria, you make a good point here, however i dont think im telling them anything that they dont already know. im merely expressing my opinion, as is my God-given right to speak my mind. and i dont think that anybody in washington would listen to a 14-year-old boy, which that may also explain why ive never fought in any wars. and also, i dont think my grandfathers, and those before them would have 'knocked my block off' for saying these things, as they would probably agree with it (i have no way of knowing, however, with them being dead during peacetime, and all). and were not exactly sharing national secrets here; i dont think anybody here knows many of them, or if they do (and im sure a few know some) they wouldnt be daft enough to post them here.

I've seen combat. I've felt my friend Kenny's life blood roll down my arm as I carried him to our LZ. The only thing that kept me sane when I could only think of his loss was that he didn't die in vain. He died in service of freedom and liberty. Now I don't mean to offend or take away anyone's rights, but when I hear people take for granted the rights that they have and put down the country that gave them those rights, I'm deeply hurt. I remember Kenny's young 23, and with it all of his humour and love of life.

I'm not American, nor have I participated in this debate, but this post is too much. Firstly why does the fact that people haven't fought for their country preclude them from the right to express an opinion about how it works? This is democracy, it is how injustices and bad policy get changed.

Secondly the fact that people do express opinions that challenge the way America or any country they live in is, in my view, similar to fighting for your country - your're challenging a threat to your country, be it another power or problems on the inside that stop it from being the best it can be.

Thirdly one who uses such foul language cannot tell people to keep their rude opinions to themselves. Just asterisking out the K doesn't make it an okay word to use. I would have though someone with so many letters after their name would be able to express themselves without having to swear; it makes people not respect what you have to say, whether it is valid or not.

But just let me throw something your way...Let us say that the US consumes 50% but is responsible for 40% of the emissions, what is that a 5 to 4 ratio, now let's say that another country has .5% of consumption and 1% of emissions, a 1 to 2 ration, therefore less efficient. Instead of piss'n & moun'n at us, which given human nature will only make ANYONE dig-in. Manipulate us, our country is a sucker for anyone that asks for help. If you try to kick in our front door we'll blow your head off without a second thought. If you have never felt the need to swear when you are angry for a cause that you believe in, then I salute you!! You are by far a saint that should be put upon a pedestal and be worshipped! I wish that I myself could be so pure. Of course you may be young and not have been subjected to the language of the world. When men have risked their lives in a military for the country they love, you must understand that harsh language is a part of life. If everyone could handle this hard life we would have no conscientious objectors. At least he made the effort to sensor himself, which in my book makes him a gentleman.

Liliara, I'm not sure how, but you seem to understand me well and I appreciate your comments.

To set the record straight, I believe in everyone's right to freedom of speech and expression. I hold a unique view and that's of one who has fought and seen men die to allow a$$holes to express whatever veiws they desire, but, that doesn't mean I'm going to like it.

As for serving in the U.S. Army, my service was in the U.S. Airforce's Special Operations Command and the U.S. Navy's Special Warfare's Group 2 under the Department of Defense.

Rahnid, I thank you for your service to our country, and the sacrifies that your family made. I'm the son of a fighter pilot, and I know that the life I enjoy is because of the men and women that serve and paid the ultimite price for my freedom. To all veterns THANKS, God bless the USA!
