As soon as Detheriel's hand went to rest on the hilt of his weapon, the man who allegedly lost a few teeth to Nivram bellowed out in a loud voice.

"Guards! Over here!"

Half a dozen men, dressed in the uniform of the town guard, probably on patrol, came running round a corner less than two dozen feet away.

</font>"Sir?" one of them asked when spotting his captain.

<font color=gold>"Take these four men into custody and place them in seperate holding cells. That one," he said pointing at Detheriel "threatened to attack me."</font>

<font color=grey>Telryn

Telryn frowned as the man accusing Nivram barked his words. When he finished, Telryn finally spoke.

"Threatened to attack you?" He said, smirking, "If you are who I think you are, seeing as you control these men, then you obviously have it far too easy. You may not have been given the respect you expect, but accusing someone without a decent introduction to his companions is quite rude, wouldn't you say?"

Telryn knew what people like this were like, heck he'd worked for and with them. If they didn't like someone, lock them up rather than face the consequences.

He hated people like that.</font color>

The guard captain looked with a sneer at Telryn.

"You shall have all the time you want to explain yourself once you're in holding. Now go with the guards or they shall be forced to take you with them. Up to you which solution you take."</font>

Telryn chuckled at the guard captains words, before muttering fairly quietly "Guards these days, don't know how easy you got it."

"If sir insists I guess we must follow," He retorted, not taking his hand of their captive, who had been surprisingly quiet in this encounter.</font color>

OOC: I hope that's a good enough queue for an introduction post, DAM

<font color=silver>As soon as Ydalon was gone, Isokla breathed a sigh of relief, than walked over to the bedside table and tore off a strip of the cloth covering it, then rolled it into a wad and put it in the keyhole, securing it firmly. No more intruders for them.

Absently, as though Suki had not made the mess, she commented to Aikia, <font color=skblue>“And now, child, I think its time you went and washed up. Go on and bathe.”</font> Her tone was distracted, but dismissive. From the set of her brow, she was troubled. Almost without thought, she bent to pick up a vase Suki had knocked over, and began to straighten various things. It appeared she was tidying up.</font>

<font color="mediumslateblue">Aikia looked up in surprise. She would never argue with one of them, but to her consternation she noticed that her mistress was cleaning, after ordering her to take a bath. She cleared her throat audibly, with a little tension. Was She upset about the cause of the mess?

"Please, My Lady, let me tidy the room. The mess is my fault, and afterwards I can bathe as you requested."</font>

<font color=silver> Isokla arched an eyebrow, <font color=skblue>"Are you going to argue with me?"</font> she asked mildly, her tone dangerously low, almost daring Aikia to say otherwise.</font>

<font color="mediumslateblue">Aikia quickly dropped her gaze to look submissively at the floor. "Never, My Lady. I was only considering the waste of water that would occur if I were to bathe before cleaning, rather than after."

Out of the corner of her eye she looked at the source of the trouble. The raven-haired girl felt her heart tighten in dismay and fear when she realized that Suki was not where she had placed him. Deciding not to alert Her to the problem Aikia showed no outward signs and waited for Her reply. Suki, where did you go? she fumed silently in exasperation.</font>

<font color=silver> <font color=skblue>"Good."</font> answered Isokla in a tone that truly broked no argument, <font color=skblue>"Clean yourself and then come to bed."</font> Isokla scowled, <font color=skblue>"I'm not sharing the bed with you if you're covered in grime - and you're not sleeping on the floor. The water is paid for, so make use of it."</font>

The young woman seemed too busy straightening out the mess Suki had made to pay any true attention to Aikia. She truly seemed to be rushing the job, and by the time she'd picked everything up, she expected Aikia to have done as she had instructed. The joys of leaving Isokla in charge...</font>

<font color="mediumslateblue">Suppressing a sigh Aikia indicated her assent and gracefully moved to the washroom to start the water. Slipping off her filthy clothes she slid into the water. Despite her argument she was glad to be able to take a real bath again, after so many months of rainwater and cold lake water. Allowing herself a brief moment to enjoy the hot steam rising up from the water, Aikia heaved a small sound of contentment then briskly set about cleaning up, hoping to be finished before her mistress completed the task of tidying up Suki’s mess.</font>

<font color=silver>When Aikia emerged, Isokla wordlessly tossed her a garment that looked suspiciously like a nightshirt that fell to her knees. The young woman had already finished tidying the entire room, drawn the curtains and prepared the bed to her liking, throwing a pillow down the middle so they'd each have an equal half of the bed. Again without a word, she held a towel in her own hand and a small bag in the other and made her way to the 'washroom'. Pausing, she added, <font color=skblue>"I suggest you sleep. I'm going to wash up myself."</font></font>

<font color="mediumslateblue">Pulling on the large nightshirt, Aikia examined herself in the large mirror against the wall. Cloudy gray eyes peered out of a pale heart-shaped face at her, trepidation and curiousity swirling in their depths. She pursed her small doll-mouth and attempted to straighten a strand of unruly chocolate hair with slender fingers. Her hand drifted unthinkingly to the aqua blue crystal entwined in front of her right ear and touched it delicately. The feel of the cool gem against her fingertips seemed to jolt her back to the present, and her eyes widened with realization. Suki! Glancing back at the washroom to make sure her mistress was still bathing, Aikia tiptoed towards the door like a deer who was aware of predators nearby.

Closing it behind her with an audible click -- too loudly, it seemed, to her ears -- Aikia padded adroitly down the stairwell, her mind opened to her wandering friend’s thoughts and her nose alert. Pausing at the bottom she weaved her head back and forth, trying to decide which way Suki had gone. Touching the floorboards at her feet she could sense many auras, new and old well up at her. Focusing she was able to pick out a newer aura, goldenrod yellow in hue. Mixed in with it was a very familiar aura -- Suki.

Aikia followed briefly down the hall, stopping at a door that was underneath the mistress's room above. Glancing up and down the corridor to make sure no one was watching she scooted down and placed her eye to the keyhole, mimicking the youth from before. ‘Suki’ she called silently.</font>

<font color=silver>Isokla on the other hand, followed her own advice and as soon as she was clean, dry and in a nightshirt of her own, went straight to bed, not caring about food – only wanting to rest peacefully for one night…</font>

For Telryn, Detheriel and Nivram:

A pair of guards took hold of each of them and roughly hauled them off. The prison was a mere block away. Age showed in the numerous cracks in the wall and the mould covering them. The entryway was a simple six foot by six foot room with a table and a chair and a door towards the prison cells. A man, quite probably the warden, was peacefully sleeping in the chair.

The aged warden, once properly woken, greeted the guard captain with a smile as they exchanged a few words. The warden shakily stood up and as he did Telryn managed to see that the left half of his face bore burn marks from a wound long ago and his left eye was missing.

He took the two sets of keys from the table in front of him and motioned for two of the guards, holding Nivram to follow him. Before leaving he handed one of the sets of keys to the captain. Once through the door he turned left and the guards tugging along Nivram followed him.

<font color=gold>"Bring the others!"</font> the guard captain ordered.

<font color=lightgrey>"Wait! You can't lock me up!"</font> the bandit shouted trying to rip himself free from the hands holding him. <font color=lightgrey>"Those three people forced me here, I have nothing to do with them!"</font> He held up his tied hands as proof.

<font color=gold>"What is this? Can we add kidnapping to your list of offenses?"</font> the captain asked, smiling a sarcastic smile.

<font color= lightgrey> "Please, release me! I have done nothing." </font> he turned and whispered to the men with him, <font color= lightgrey>"Tell me where the others are and I'll come back with them for you.But only if you promise to spare my life." </font> he turned back to the gaurds and continued his pleading.<font color= lightgrey> "Please my good gentlemen, cant you let me go? I'm the victim here dont you think?

<font color=gold>"Quit your whining!" the captain barked at the bandit. He motioned to one of the guards, who slammed the hilt of his sword into Jason's stomach.

As Jason doubled over, the captain ordered his men to take him to one of the cells. Two of the guards grabbed Jason by the shoulder and started dragging him towards the door leading to the prison cells.

The captain continued gazing at Telryn and Detheriel as if still awaiting a reply.

<font color=grey>Telryn

Telryn stared back at the menacing eyes of the guard captain. He'd seen it all before, men rising to power and it getting to their heads. He bet that one day this man was still one of the 'good ones', or just not as deluded as he seems now.

"Kidnapping?" Telryn answered, "Truth be told, that man is a bandit. Now, my friends and I will happily tell you our story, should you get your men off us first."

Whether this would work he didn’t know.

“And if you could tell us what Nivram has done, that’d be great.”</font color>

<font color=FFFF77>Ydalon

After renegotiating the price and amount of beds required, Ydalon retrieved the sling from the locked chest, threw out everything but the clothes, needle and thread and went out to do the laundry. Scrubbing away and trying to mend tears in the cloth helped pass the time until the arrival of either the others or night. The multi-punctured white sock, though, was left unmended. Some things just take too much effort.</font>
