Elsewhere in the stronghold:
The information extracted from Feldorn had by now reached the commander of the stronghold. The wraith had done his job, and with a complex spell had extracted information from Turin's mind and now was telling the commander what he had learnt. After the wraith left the commander pondered what he had been told for some time. After formulating a plan he called for a lieutenant and a messenger. The plan he had formulated was devious. He spoke to the two men for ten minutes then dismissed them. Each left on their own mission, the messenger leaving the stronghold, while the lieutenant stayed there. |
Kirun and Bober stepped into the room. Someone asked them if they wish something to drink. Bober said:"I`ll have one ale."
He turned to his friend and asked:"So will we wait here for ten minutes or do we hurry up to the arena?" |
Therlion looked around the room, noting the guard who isn't taking his eyes off him. He heard a few words that Roland said and he started thinking about what was Roland's plan.

Roland was just as panicked as Turin. He knew what takes place here can affect the entire mission. Roland suddenly had a very wild idea but it risked the life of their elven companion. "We would be willing to hand over the elf if you give us the reward AND take myself and my siblings to Lord Easthome. I wish to discuss something with the humble lord." Roland detested the words he had said but knew it was necessary. He would tell Turin and Robyn his plan once they are all alone together.

Terias quickly recalled that a troll's weakness was fire, he thought about enchanting his weapon with fire. Suddenly as his first thought of enchantment, he realized that his weapon was wooden, and it might not survive the enchantment.....He would have to take that chance. If it failed, he would just resort to a Fire spell. He also thought if he should help the man talking to him, though he scarce even knew his name. Terias asked him, Should i enchant your weapon with fire as well, as trolls are weak against fire?"

For Terias:
"That might help. Go ahead then." In the meantime the other trolls engaged in combat with the rest of the prisoners. One of the trolls was being brought down by several prisoners while the other two were at a sort of standstill with three pairs of prisoners. OOC: If Terias decides to enchant the weapons with fire the troll who is coming towards them will be getting close by the time he finishes, and Terias will barely have the time for another spell after that. |
For Turin's group:
The captain of the guard was getting a bit annoyed with this group. He did not understand what their problem could be, except possibly they did not trust Lord Easthome for giving them the money. "It is not in my authority to give you the money, I only got authority to give you an advance of 10 gold pieces."- he paused for a moment thinking, then he motioned to one of his men whispered in his ear and the man left the inn."We shall see what Lord Easthome says to your proposal."-he said to Roland. |
Robyn Stratsworth
Robyn had not seen the need to speak so far as she thought that her companions were handling the situatin adequately enough. She did not feel any hostility from the guard captain. Through the teachings of her mother she had learnt reading emotions and reactions and apart of a simple annoyance because of losing time here she could only see the man's fear of doing something his lord would not like. As she read his facial expressions and movements of hand while he spoke a curiosity started perking up in her. The idea she had been formulating ever since she made the link that the scout groups leader was the son of the man who commanded here was coming to fruition. From what she had heard from the guard captain Lord Easthome was a busy man and he would be more than annoyed with the fact that bringing the elf before him was being delayed. She decided that she would try out her idea: Turning to the captain she said"You could tell your Lord that we are friends of his son. We met him two days ago during our journey here out in the wilderness. We told him we would be coming here and he told us we would be welcome. This is not the welcome we were expecting here. And besides all of us know that even for an advance fee 10 gold pieces is nothing for an elf as skilled as this one. The guard captain looked uncomfortable as she spoke about Lord Easthome's son."I shall see what Lord Easthome says." He turned and left the inn leaving only three of his men in the inn who stayed in a position as to stop Therlion from escaping. |
Turin
That was too close! Turin thought as he watched the men leave, leaving behind three of their ranks. He walked up to Roland and Robyn. "Thanks, you two. If we can keep our heads, we'll see our way through this...but it won't be easy. We do what we must." Turin decided that he needed to learn more about these guys, so he walked up to the three soldiers, to inquire... "So...how did you get into this business? Does it pay well?" He wanted to pry into this group a bit more, and hoped that he had a talker on his hands here. |
The guards who have been asked a question:
The three guards looked at each other trying to decide which one of them had been asked the question. After a few moments thought one of them replied. "The pay is good, but I do not do it for the money. I do it because I believe that what our lord does is the right thing. The others remained silent for a while, it seemed they were waiting for Turin to say something. He then asked him: "And you? What's in it for you?" |
