Alasdair smirks. "They always come at the worst of times, no?" With that he tosses out his blade, humming brightly as it gains distance and slashing into the Troll's shoulder. He runs over to the troll and beckons his sword back, immediately tumbling to the left to dodge the Troll's charge.
He slashes at its legs twice before spinning and landing another. The Troll tumbles, but immediately stands back up unphased and angered. It's attention is fully diverted to Alasdair for the time. Alasdair glares up at it as his blade begins to glow brighter. |
Talthus watches as the 3 orcs turn to face alasdair and slowly head towards him. Talthus charges them from behind, knocking one over and pulling his blade free of its back as he turns to face the other two. they approach, swords drawn. One thrusts and Talthus parries the attack and sends an incredible riposte slicing a large cut through the orc's muscular arm. The beast's anger flares as it attacks once more and dies swiftly under Talthus's blade, it's guts spilling from its stomach. Just as the first orc died, the second orc attacked, taking Talthus by surprise and sending a large slash across his back. Blood seaping from the wound, Talthus yells and spins around chopping the orc's head in two.

Alasdair quickly turns to Dak after his scream, as he felt a huge impact on his side. He flew into a near-by rock protruding from the ground as he winced in pain, slowly he threw his blade at the Troll once more, sticking it into it's stomach. Alasdair struggles to stand, barely able to breathe as the stone had winded him severely.

Skye watched the battle in horror as her two companions were thrown about brutally. Taking out her harp, she started to strumm a song that seemed to hang in the air as everything took a slow breath. "Hurry, I can't keep this up much longer," she panted, as the enemy moved slowly towards the two fighters.
ooc- bards are helpful once in a while.. ;) |
Talthus is breathing deeply and is hunched over, holding his blade as a heavy rain begins and soaks his already wet hair. He turns his head to see Alasdair on the ground and the troll slowly making its way towards him. Talthus grits his teeth and pulls his sword along the ground beside him as he slowly makes his way towards the troll, every second increasing in speed until he's at a full on run. His face is in a grimace as he reduces the distance between him and the troll...in his anger his pupils disappear and are replaced with completely white eyes, flashing a blood red as he yells and jumps high above the troll's head...as Alasdair stares up at the beast approaching, all he sees is it stop, and the end of Talthus's sword cut the full height of the troll from top to bottom leaving a red line the whole way down. As the troll falls in two, Talthus is kneeling there looking at Alasdair, breathing deeply...his eyes blood-red...

Alasdair closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, then slowly opens them and raises his sword to Skye as his way of saying 'Thanks'. He stands slowly, the rain was soothing to his hot skin. Wiping sweat from his brow he walks up to Skye and Elif, nodding to them the rain began to pick up heavily. Alasdair looks off to the river, across it the fog was lifting. "Let us rest here for a moment." Sitting on the road and staring across the lake, lightning flashed on and off. "That was amazing, Talthus." Alasdair's blade floats back to his hand, he sheathes it slowly while catching his breath.
The wind picked up quickly, the fog across the lake began to swirl menacingly as the figure they had been looking for appeared. Alasdair stood quickly and ran to the edge of the shore... ... The figure resembled Talthus. "Travel East, I'll find you there..." With that, the figure vanishes in the fog. The rain picked up heavily and the evening quickly fell into night. The figure had went into the Stormy Mountains. OOC: Hope you guys don't mind the partial DMing. Im keeping Avatars basic story (a conflict in the east and 'the stormy mountains', and I'd like the plot to become evident :D , I'll delete it if you guys don't like it.) As the others stand there recovering from the battle, Talthus kneels on the ground leaning on his blade dug into the earth. He is breathing deeply and his eyes slowly begin to become normal once more. As Alasdair speaks to him he notices what looks like fire recede from Talthus's body into the red stones on the back of his gauntlets...He says nothing as he kneels there and breathes. His wolf walks out of the woods and over to his side to sitnext to him. Talthus slowly stands and faces the lake...his upper body heaving as he takes in deep breaths...

ooc- eh, the DMing is fine with me. ^^
ic- Skye walked over to the two fighters. "I know a few minor healing spells, if you have use of them," she said, having gotten her breath back. |
Alasdair looks to her and nods. "I think that would be for the best." He says, clutching his side. His breath pattern was irregular.
"Skye," He pauses for a moment, "and Elif - I plan on crossing the mountains... and I know Talthus will come with me. I thank you for your hospitality in the Temple, the stay was pleasant, I enjoyed it very much." The thunder rolled heavily, as if mocking Alasdair and Talthus' attempt to try to cross the mountains. The rain was down to a drizzle now, but the onimous thunder stayed throughout. He sighed. "I cannot ask you two to come with me, but know that I take you both with me in heart and mind. Perhaps we'll all meet again someday... If fate allows it." He clutched his side once more and forced a smile. He turns and looks to Talthus and pats him on the back, silently they stare up at the mountains... |
Wow all, my comp at home took a major dump on me so I had to wait till I had some free time here at work, I think it is safe to say that when you two leave the doors to the temple of Aerie will be closing permanently (unless Avatar returns or I have the time :( )
