I didn't start reading it until there were already 6 books out and a friend assured me how great it was and that it would be finished with one or two more books. "Fine." I thought to myself "By the time I get all the other books and read them I'll be caught up as he is finishing. I'll be able to keep up with everything." Little did I realize that the author had run out of ideas but not out of debt.
If he finishes it up I MIGHT buy the rest of the books (at second hand stores from which he won't get any royalty's) and invest the time in reading everything again from the first.

Goodnight CD. I knew you were kidding. I really did love the Antkeg comment. It was inspired. You make me proud buck-o. *Antryg sheds a tear as CD settles down to a long winters nap.*

*Tries to remember the last new fantasy book he read.* Oh, yeah, The Daughter of the Drow by Elaine Cunningham. I couldn't get past Page 11, and gave it away. Last night, I wanted to read some fantasy, but I fell back on The Glory Road by Robert A. Heinlein.

What was the daughter of the drow about?

Attalus 12-03-2002 07:25 PM

LOL, as best I can tell from all 11 pages that I read, this creepy drow wizard has a mistress who has a daughter who is quite gifted magically. So, for some reason that I never figured out, her murdered his mistress and adopted the little girl. At that point, I quit reading. I mean, why murder the poor woman? I know the drow are supposed to be heartless, but it doesn't make any sense.

Your right I would have read it either.Maybe the mistress was going to teach the girl priestess and the wizard wanted her to be something else.I dunno.

I got a flat tire once. I had to buy a new one.

Attalus 12-03-2002 07:44 PM

LOL, hi, Dunda. I had a flat tire once because a lesbian stuck an ice pick into it. Long story. ;)
