But just let me throw something your way...Let us say that the US consumes 50% but is responsible for 40% of the emissions, what is that a 5 to 4 ratio, now let's say that another country has .5% of consumption and 1% of emissions, a 1 to 2 ration, therefore less efficient. Are you saying that we should really make that country reduce their emissions, and that we are OK with our 40%? Look at it this way...if the country with 1% of the total reduces their emissions by 100% that is a 1% drop in total emissions, whereas the US would only need to drop their emissions by 2.5% for a 1% drop in world total...do you see what I am getting at? Even though our country is more efficient, it still benefits the world for us to reduce our emissions b/c we can do it much easier.

however, these are not the family's problems, they are the worlds, problems and i will voice what i truly think about them. im not TOTALLY blaming us for everything, but we ARE a large cause of it. nationalism cant hide the facts, we contribute very much to global warming. our 'bigger and better' business attitude has created more polution, and with that SUV craze, we're just wasting more gas than we have to, and then people complain about gas prices being too high when it was partly their fault to begin with by buying those gas guzzlers!

Who is uneducated? Can you please explain to me what military service has to do with caring about the world? Can we not live in the US and still critisize it? I have yet to see a single person on this board say the US is a bad place to live. I am thankful for the veterans of all of our wars (btw in my family I have had 1 grandfather, 1 great-uncle, 1 uncle, 2 of my fathers cousins, and one of my cousins die fighting for our freedom!) but does that mean I have to just accept that our President is an idiot? Do we not have the right of citizens to question things?

Rahnid, i believe my family has earned the right to live here, and im not leaving anytime soon, just because my opinions are the truth about whats happening. both of my grandfathers fought in world war 2, and one of them spent 4 years in a Japanese internment camp! i believe that more than earns the right for my family to be here for a long, LONG time considering how mistreated prisoners of the Japanese were during WW2. and also, i will not cover up what i truly think just because i want to seem 'patriotic' or something, because i dont lie about things like that. i always tell the truth about what i think. however, that spy plane incident WASNT our fault by a long shot. we've been doing observation missions like that for years, and nothing like that has ever happened before. i dont think that flying straight-on with a chinese fighter was the intent of the crew, it was obviously the fighter's.
