Legend holds...

Rikard is born in the year 1328 DR 30 years before the time of trouble. He was the 3rd Child and First Son of the Githyanki King and thus he was destined to become the next king
And when his father died when Rikard was only 18 yars old he did became king but to the unliking of his younger brother Tosyak Who challanged Rikard for a dual for the kingdom. As a Githyanki Rikard could not oppose to the dual and the fight started. A fight Rikard easely won but he refused to kill Tosyak. Tha sign of weakness caused Tosyak to take the throne anyway and bann Rikard for live from The Astral Plane

Rikard ended up in Faerun where he lived quite an anonomous live as Town Guardian in a small south of waterdeep. He proved himself to be a good magician and his enemy's often didn't know they were getting killed intill they were

This all changed in the time of Trouble
