OOC>>>Excellent battle scene! Addison, that was a truelly unique post! Thanks, TAO!
IC>>> Raymond sleeps blissfully. Bazguul's war party are many miles away, nearing the last city of their attack. After that, they plan on returning home. This last city attack will be more detailed and scary, as it will be more fortified...yet you will get to see more of the amulet's strange powers, along with the power of Bazguul'tek. All of this will come about after I do my gardening work for the day ;) So, hang tight and do whatever. And don't forget about the barkeep that has now escaped out the door! |
OOC>>> Take your time, Legolas That was a very well-detailed fight, everyone Just to let you know I'm still around, especially at weekends, but things are moving slow for my characters... even considering dumping Isaura if there isn't much to follow up on her side :D I'll try to throw in more drama ;)

OOC> I hadn't forgotten about the barkeep. I was just going to review the thread to see exactly where he went, but since you dropped a reminder, I'll go ahead and make my Post regarding that.
Addison surveyed the room from his inverted position. There were only two thugs still standing and it didn't look as if they would last very long. ~ now where did our friendly barkeep get off too ~ He looked around the room again, but couldn't spot him anywhere. His unique vantage point allowed him to check behind furniture and the bar. No sign of him anywhere. Obviously he ran out during the confusion. Addison then sends Skrith outside to track him down. He also tries to track him using his ESP spell, but the barkeep is apparantly out of range. Skrith soon finds the fat barkeep cringing behind a nearby building and peeking around the corner towards the tavern. The barkeep is so intent on the battle he just left that he never notices the dragon as it swoops down behind him. Skrith flicks his tail forward and stings the barkeep in the back of his neck. The man stiffens in pain...then realizes that he is paralyzed by more than fear and pain. The pseudo-dragon's poison has rendered him totally immobile. Skrith relays the information back to Addison through their telepathic link. The mage smiles briefly...then uses his ESP spell to make sure there are no other "un-identified" enemies nearby. |
GALADRIA "Addison, where did that bartender go? I have many questions for him."
|
SIR BLANDAMOUR "Lady Galdria, what are those papers sticking out of your scrip? They look like we oulght to examine them. And how about that strange thing that you took of of that kidnapper's belt? We should examine that, too. Our friend Addison looks like the kind that might be mighty in lore."
|
Addison drops from the ceiling and flips over to land on his feet.
"Fear not, Lady Galadria, our bladder-challenged friend is just around the corner of the next building over. Don't worry, though, he won't be going anywhere soon. He was not as resistant to Skriths' poison as his former friend there." Addison pauses and a slow smile plays across his lips. "In fact, you should have plenty of time to "toy" with him a bit before the poison wears off. Didn't you mention something about a torture chamber downstairs?" "Well, the decision is yours. I have an antidote that will negate the poison whenever you are ready." Addison then turns to Attalus. "I'll be glad to take a look at those papers and see what information they may reveal." He studies the papers for a few minutes and then separates them on one of the tables. Pointing to the first stack, Addison says... "This is a series of receipts to your friend Britomart from a slave trader named Occono in the town of Tarashia. This second set of papers is a letter that Britomart apparantly didn't have time to send. It's addressed to somebody named Jack the Toad and invites him to come join her. It states that she is now this demons "second in command" and expects to receive a "great deal of loot" due to this position." This final group of papers will require more study. It's written in a most unusual style and will take considerable effort to decipher. [ 04-27-2002, 11:19 PM: Message edited by: Cerek the Barbaric ] |
GALADRIA "A demon! We must go back to Tarashia and inform my Preceptor, there. She will certainly send an army to deal with the problem. What say you, Sir Blandamour? You are my superior in this, as in all things." (Bats her eyelashes demurely)
|
SIR BLANDAMOUR (Looks confused) "Oh, I wouldn't say that, milady. You use a bastard sword much better than I, and your lance-work is very pretty. Yes, yes, we must go back and report. Eliza, if you are still bent on becoming my esquire, you must come, too, and enroll in the Order."
|
ELIZA(She sees Galadria shoot her a hostile look, but presses bravely on.) "Yes, my Lord Blandamour, I shall do that just as you say. I will be glad to take any oath required, if that will let me be your squire." (trembling smile as the full import of this dawns on her) "Does that mean that you have decided to accept me? Oh, happy day! You shall never have cause to regret it, dear Lord, that I swear now to you." (she jumps upon him and hugs him tight. She starts to kiss him, but thinks better of it)
|
Her eyes still glowing silver, she cocks her head, hearing something, and swiftly walks to the door behind the bar leading to the kitchen, sheathing SpiritSword....She quickly shoves her staff around the corner, and a gasp is heard. Reaching in, she drags out a small heavy-set woman, and throws her to the middle of the room.
She then strides over to the fireplace, and pulling out some herbs, starts preparing an astrigent for cuts, bruises and tiredness. [ 04-30-2002, 12:57 PM: Message edited by: TAOWolf ] |
