Dragging herself painfully from the ground, she watches Carlos' valiant charge. Envying him and the others' ability to use bladed weapons. What else can she do but continue to fling flamed pieces at the monster? Nothing! What can she do for the injured? Nothing! What is she to the group? Nothing!

As the replies resound in her head, the gnashing in her heart almost drives her to insanity. Eyes flashing in anger directed at nobody in particular, she runs towards the pile of wood and grabs a piece with each hand. Screeching incessantly and hurling the pieces at the beast. The beast finally weakens, but through no effort of hers. And the words return to haunt her ~ ... to kill a magical beast with your own hands, unaided... ~ The raucous laughter of the High Priestess cackling against her ears.

Hearing a shout, she turns towards it. And sees Carlos now badly injured. She feels a punch in her stomach, followed by the arrow of fear piercing her heart. Rushing forward, she grabs his right arm and places it around her shoulders. Her left hand supports his back and gritting her teeth, she begins to drag him up to his feet.

Pace by pace, they finally make it to the flight of steps. Down towards the cabins...

Ni Deng was having a rough night. The voices outside continued their screaming, and the thunder had not ceased until a short while ago. The ship was being tossed in all directions.
Sighing, the monk rose from his bed once more wiht the aid of his trusty stick. Thinking about it, the stick was about the only thing reminding him of his order, for it was made by his good friend Kju Ar. His tools reminded him of his gardens, the stick of his order. They were his most prized, and only, posessions.

Slamming the cabin door open, he shouted
"Can an old man not get sleep tonight? Go being quiet!"

He waited a bit to let his eyes adjust to the darkness. Noticing the attackers, Ni sighed heavily but decided to make his way down to the action. He knew he could help. After all, he was a good bluffer, knew about herbs and the ways of natural healing, and he was the best gardener he had ever seen. Plus, Ni had some carefully hidden tricks up his robe. But those were for emergencies only.
The gardener removed his sandals and tugged them in with his tools for a better grip on the wet deck. Looking around, he saw the figure of the mute cleric walk resolutely toward some kind of monster. Sadly, he shook his head. The wits of some people...

Now Larry promise me you wont jack with my posts anymore,

IC>>>Pocketing the ring he ran to rejoin the battle. He saw the Monk standing in the doorway. "Excuse me, The Battle is joined!" he shouted as he slipped between the old man and the doorframe. He drew his sword and began to hack and slash. Then he heard the dragon's song. It brought a new emotion into his heart which he hadn't felt since they had departed. ~Hope...~ He had felt the hope that he would live to see another day, that this wouldn't be his final battle. With this renewed felling he swung extremly vigorously and deheaded the Elemental. It flopped on the deck. The body bent down to reattach the head to the rest of its being, but before he made it Delita swung another mindnumbing blow destroying it...</font>

OOC>>> Just remember larry...

OOC: this is non-sense, we are going to die.

the elementals are beating the boat from down below the water, they meant to SINK it. face it, this is the smartest approach. we cannot do anything about it, huk this, I am going down there. and remember it is none-sense killed me. how the huk did 100 water elementals come out from nowhere? BS

IC:
With a jerk, Carlos pulled himself away from Mistral. He muttered a thanks to her as he gentely pushed her helping arms away. "The battle is still waging. I must go." He said, breathing heavily. Helding his sword, he felt the hilt's smooth surface. He put one hand on the blade of Lilarchor, and examined the enchanted steel with admiration and pride. "So you will go down there with me" He smiled "we will die together."

Spinning to his feet, he ran towards the edge of the deck. In the mid way, he picked up a strong rope and tied it around his chest, then grabbed it with one hand. He took a deep breath, and leaped into the water...

OOC>>> Here maybe this will work. I'm gonna try and stop this cuz, 250 is right this is madness. this is about the most fictional post i'll ever make because otherwise it's game over.

Noticing there are no Elementals left upon deck, He is all of a sudden struck by a brilliant idea. ~I feel so stupid! Why didnt i think about this before,~ He thought as he sheated his Sword and ran to the edge of the Ship, which would sink in only a moments time, save a miracle. He drew his bow ~My the gods help my final effort,!~, Seizing his arrow of electricity, he launched it at a random spot it the water. He heard several unhuman shrieks and had guessed it had been successful. Seizing several more arrows, he began shooting the water surrounding them careful not to electricute the wet paladin... they kept dying in masses as Delita launched arrow after arrow...</font>

As the ship continues to jerk in all directions, she stumbles and lands onto the ground with a hard thump. Groaning, she takes her time to recover from the fall, all the while wondering if it the gods are determined to strike her dead.

Concentrating on regularising her breathing rhythm, she shuts out all other thoughts. Focused on the now. To her surprise, she even finds herself on the verge of dozing off in her seated position. The irony of the situation does not escape her. But it must be the fatigue finally settling in.

Her eyelids begin to close...

250 12-13-2001 10:57 PM

Waves of electricity ran through his spine, Carlos was toasted before he could do any damage. Good thing he felt a strong hand pulling his rope up before the last breath is zapped out of his lungs.

It is Larry. "I owe you my life yet again, my brother" Carlos shook his head bitterly "It looks like I can never repay the debt."

Out of the heating battle, something stood atop of the waves and watched the battle with curiousity. After taking many beats, the ship began to crack.

"Help you need" the unseen thing mumbled.

Green light danced atop of the wave for a long time, it intensifies as seconds become minutes. Then all of a sudden, the light ball flew towards the water near the ship. It materialized into some dusty clouds in the air, and crushed into the ocean. Bubles exploded all around the ship as the cloud expanded around the ship. Wherever the merciless clouds touch, water is drained and turned into heated air, floating and swirling around the ship.

The unseen thing began yet another casting...

mistral4543 12-14-2001 04:39 AM

In her subconscious state, she hears her own slight snoring, at times jerking out of her sleep but mostly drifting back to dreamland. Her mind slighted rested now, it begins to indulge in some musings. For example, why is the ship not tumbling about the edgy waves anymore?

With an effort, she forces herself to face reality once more. Her eyes open wide and she spots a figure leaning over the rail of the ship. Getting up, she strides over just in time to see the ranger pulling out the completely soaked Carlos. Glad to see that he is in good hands, she now gazes about.

It is then that she discovers the mist surrounding the ship. But instead of the coolness that was to be expected, she feels its warmth. No, the steam... choking slightly from suffocation, she staggers back, continuing to stare at the surging clouds in horrid fascination.

Larry_OHF 12-14-2001 09:57 AM

<font color="lightblue">"Yes you can", responded the Ranger..."Stay alive and that is all the repayment I want!".
Larry's head really hurt. He had been landed on by a flying woman, thrown into the ship's hul to stay outta the way while unconscious, and had woke up in time to realize that Carlos was in trouble. How had he known??? maybe the Gods told him...who know...anyway, Larry looked around at the ship and the condition thereof. It was not a prety sight. The storm had dissapated and the creatures that had abouned here were dead, and the ship looked very unsafe on the waters. They could sink at any minute! How close were they to their destination? had the ship been blown off-course? Had the storm taken them closer to where they wanted to go?

Sleeping was almost impossible for everybody, Now. The ship had sustained so much damage in those few moments that it creaked eerily, as if threatening to sink them. Delita stood up and went onto deck, and to his surprise most of his comrads were there. ~Hmm... there's no time than the better,~ He thought as he approached SecretMaster, "Earlier on there was a man in the hull, He was searching through your belongings as if he was searching for something... And I also snatched this ring of his hand," his said as he handed the ring to SecretMaster. There were many strange engravings upon it which Delita nor the others could make out, "I believe it was the man we fought at the docks the other day..." He said... </font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font>
