Just to clarify: When, earlier in the thread, I said that Faldorn has Spirit Animals with her, I was wrong. They are in fact merely Dread Wolves, which Faldorn could summon via a Special Ability in BG1.
But yes, Neo, you're right in that nothing in this fight is honorable. Considering the number of buffs, and the legality of those buffs, and the all-encompassing nature of those buffs, and the fact that those buffs cannot be dispelled, and the fact that those buffs are permanent, and the fact that she casts Nature's Beauty, it's pretty easy to come to the conclusion that NOTHING in this fight is fair. So use your entire party to prebuff Jaheira and throw items over the wall to her, Faldorn deserves nothing even remotely resembling your respect. Personally, I simply deleted Faldorn.CRE from my Override folder, thus restoring her to her original form, but I think her buffing scripts will still take effect, thus once again forcing me to cheese the fight. Par for the course, I suppose--if I can't have intelligent Mages without cheating Liches, why should I have intelligent Druids without a cheating Faldorn? |

First of all, I understand that this is an old thread, but I think it would be better to keep all the Improved Faldorn posts in one thread. If not, please tell me and I will apologize and never do it again.
I just beat Faldorn, rather easily I might add. It took me a while, but I successfully killed her via shapechange with my druid. The secret is in the Unfinished Busines mod. There is a quest that gives you a limited wish spell that ANYONE can use and thus allows anyone to get shapechange. I did a whole lot more than was necessary, but all you have to do is have SOME form of magic resistance to block the first creeping doom ie... potn of magic protection. At 8 ApR, you should eat up faldorn's iron skins rather quickly and int-drain her to death. I tried this about 3 times with buffs like spirit armor, imp invis, imp haste, haste, oil of speed, armor of faith, iron skins etc. The only thing that could get past my iron skins was the creeping doom (which did 4 damage due to insane difficulty). Its really too bad that I had to resort to THIS to kill her *legitimately*. I've done it with the multi-stronghold and my barbarian with complete immunity to phys damage, as well as a sorcerer. I can hardly believe that it really takes this much cheese to win. On the other hand, she does cheat, so why can't I? |
