Unfortunately, my entire Pnp Dnd collection is still in Michigan, and I will be going up to get it in August sometime. I know it was in the first 10 modules released for the DnD Basic red box set, and they all 10 were re-released as a paperback book called "in search of adventure" and the Archer-Bush and the Vampire Rose were both in the same mod in that collection.
A large part of the monsters I would put into a mod would be from the DND boxsets as well as the ADnD works, due to their obscurity.

Hmm - never saw that golem before! There are lots of weird golems in each campaign setting, though... I think the Realms had a few, too...

Again, regarding the boxsets there was in the green box set a monster called a "Drolem" which resembled a dragon-bone golem.

Ah - Fiend Folio! Seems obvious in retrospect... :) I do like the 1e version best, I guess - the 2e one looks kind of like a 4-legged spider or something... and the interesting plumage designs are also gone...

As for the flesh golem - well, even evil wizards have to show some modesty with their creations :D Flesh golems are basically like Frankenstein's creation - and HE had pants, too!

I think the Acherai pic you did Uatu is AWESOME! also, nice remake on the website. As for the pants issue, its nice to have a flesh golem with pants... I mean even turning into a big mean green monster; the incredible hulk always had pants (go figure).

Engine-wise, the outer planes would be easiest to do (basically, they are just like somewhat more/less hospitable Prime Material Planes); the etheral and astral have their own funky rules, which we may/may not be able to implement. The worst are the inner planes (except maybe air)! Demi-planes will depend....

Be sure to include the Positive and Negative Material Planes (for a quick party demise?)... ;)

Yeah, underwater adventures were touched on in FRUA and they pose some problems, and the same holds true with that Elemental plane; but if you can realistically figure out a way to overcome the lack of breathing it would be an awesome story.

Yuan-ti are pretty nice, but I would hate to do like 12 kinds of them since they seem to change from encounter to encounter... (Snake head or eyes or neck or body or legs, etc.... Incidentally, I looked for the original Chinese (if it IS Chinese) of "yuan-ti" - still no idea)

I thought it would be nice to have a master villain as a Yuan-ti, and it would be cool to have like his left arm as a snake that could attack with a poisonous bite, but he could also hack at you with a sword one-handed (of course).

...And then everyone would be stepped on by the brontosaurus.

Re: Art Requests

Strange how the Hulk always managed to keep his pants on, huh? I guess he made a point to buy stretchy (spandex?) pants (for decency, a good choice).

Regarding yuan-ti - yeah, some of them have snake arms :) Never heard of just ONE snake arm, though! It might be possible...

I guess a drolem might look like a dracolich...

Glad you like the achaierai (and now I know how to spell it!) :)

And anyway.... how big would a brontosaurus icon be, then? :D

Re: Art Requests

I am not sure how big a bronto icon would be. I'll work on the calculations as soon as I can get on my pc again.

With the sizable collection of undersea creatures, I'm thinking of doing a mini-mod based upon the memory of this "choose your own adventure"-style game book I once owned. The thing is, this book allowed you to do simple dice roll combats that would enable chance as well as choice to determine your outcome. It was a pretty cool book (especially when compared to the choice-only choose your own adventure books).

The mini-mod would be based upon the memory of the book, but would not be based upon the book exactly. the only holdup to doing any underwater adventures would not be the icons available, but the lack of walls and backdrops available. Anyone do any underwater walls or backdrops?

Re: Art Requests

Well, Uatu and I have both done underwater combat wilderness walls. Uatu also has an undersea background available at his site.
No walls, but you could use the converted FRUA ones (which I personally dislike).
What kind of walls are you looking for? Coral? Sea plants? Rocks?

Re: Art Requests

Yeah... I guess we are only really missing walls right now for underwater campaigns. I guess you could do a "just swim and swim and swimswimswim!" campaign (who ever heard of walls underwater, anyway? :D ) but it would be better to at least have coral or seaweed or something to make the underwater wilderness look more interesting...

Another thing that would be nice are more sprites/small pics (manikus has made a few of the latter); but these take longer than icons, so... :D

Re: Art Requests

I have some that haven't been released yet, 'cause I want to finish icons first. :)

I was thinking of doing some seaweed walls. I'll have to see how that works.

I could probably do some fish sprites too. I was thinking of fish swimming by...

Re: Art Requests

Yeah... Fish swimming by might make a nice effect... (would be a bit strange to use it as a land marker, though :D )

But yeah, icons are the most fun to work on ;)
