Its still basicly the same thing realy. He is now dead, and nobody can bring him back, and he was so young too. What a waste of life don't you reckon?

If that life included the continuation of hauling poisons, then no not really.

I'll think less of Singapore ever more.

The cases you cite are/were before the Indonesian courts. Apples & oranges. Rest assured if Michelle had been caught in Singapore, she would have faced the same Misuse of Drugs Act. But in her case, from the little that I know (I didn't follow the case closely) she would've been charged with possession since IIRC she was found with 2 Ecstasy tablets in her handbag. </font>[/QUOTE]Yes but that person killed other innocents, and he has not been killed. i just don't get it, it's merely a thing about religeon i think, and because our culture is Christian. |

The executioner has not been sacked. As I said before, media hysteria. They did change to another executioner though, for the obvious reason of the executioner's safety. Can some of the Australians verify whether it is true that in a poll, 47% of Australians supported the hanging, as opposed to the 46% who opposed it? |
I also like to know where the common man in Singapore stands in this, is the population devided, or is everyone in favour of this law ?

Those who object are generally the opposition party members, trying to tar the ruling party. I tell you, it is very hard to support some of the opposition parties here, because you get the feeling that they are stark raving lunatics sometimes. Thankfully, there are a few respectable ones whom you can wholly support. Ask any Singaporean about the Buangkok White Elephants if you get the chance. ;) |

Singapore is not Indonesia you know. Just like US is not Canada. And what does religion have to do with this? [ 12-03-2005, 03:51 AM: Message edited by: Kakero ] |
