Khagar-"This old book starts you off at the right pace, so you can learn step by step on how to practice Psionics. This is wonderful. It will take a while to learn though. And we are running short on time, what should we do????"

OOC: Ask and you shall be given, sorry about not showing up for a while, been kinda hectic here and I'm trying to get some things straightened out before my wife has the kid (we don't know if it'll be a boy or girl, waiting for the surprise , but he/she's due to pop out on the 3rd of September) anyway, now that I've bored you with excuses...
IC: Sir Morguerat - you wouldn't happen to have multiple copies of the Psionics book do you? Jazhuer- "Well as a matter of fact" rubs his chin thoughtfully, "I do have another copy, but it was borrowed about... oh 17 turns of the wheel ago, give or take a day or two... some Neb-ulous fellow, or something like that, was pretty keen on psionics, trying to raise a herd of psychic insects for some barmy reason... I think he was headed for the Beastlands...probably got eaten by something... I don't usually like to force returns, but I suppose someone put him in the deadbook with the other cutters that go about tellin the beasts what to do" (if you don't like the planescape talk ignore it, if you need clarification on what he's saying, just ask), "So I suppose I can make an exception." He withdrew a small stone, and closed his hand around it, holding it, until a reddish glow could be seen through his hand, as he opened his hand a tattered book appeared, it was vaguely recognizable as being twin to the book Psionics, an Introductory to All that is Seen and Unseen . “You see, all my books have a small recall stone implanted on the inside cover, you just have to push it and concentrate, and I will know when you are ready to return the book, and I can retrieve it with my magic stones here, makes it easier for everyone.” Sir Morguerat – “That’ll be great, we thank you much good sir, maybe as my sword gave me skill with the unseen way studying this book will help me recapture some of it. “Is there anything else we need? If not we should make all haste to the Seven Heavens to gain the artifacts we seek.” |
I wish you well Morgeruat on your childs birth. Congrats dude. Wish i could send you somethin but i don't know where u live, n my parents wouldn't let me.

(ooc: Congratulations, Morgeruat! Oh, and don't worry, I don't mind the planescape talk. ;) )
IW> Rufus' face put on an unhappy expression when he heard of what might have happened to the previous borrower of the book. "Eaten!" he exclaimed. "What a terrible thing to happen to anyone! I sure hope what you've said isn't true, for the sake of that person!" "Why... not good?" asked Fenric playfully. "Fenric... like! Fenric... like to eat you! Grrrr..." The werewolf sprang on Rufus and pretended to mangle him. "Come on, Fenric, stop it!" cried Rufus with exasperation as the two tumbled around on the ground, wrapped around each other. Magnus smiled and shook his head as he looked at the pair for a moment, then returned to the books on psionics. "Certainly the book you've found would prove useful, Khadgar," he said, "though I think in addition we would also do well to learn the harder spells taught in this other one I've found. These spells may be a bit harder, but I'm confident we can still learn them. As for how much time we have, have you forgotten? Time has virtually no meaning on this plane -- even what would seem like a few years to you here would actually be just a few moments back in the Prime Material Plane. A few hours here would be therefore not even a twinkling of the eye back home. We can spend a little more time here to get ourselves prepared -- no rush." Magnus winked. "But of course!" cried Khadgar. "How could I have forgotten that! But nevertheless, we wouldn't want to dawdle around for too long, lest we lose our sense of urgency." "Of course," said Magnus. "So come on, let's spend a little 'time' to familiarise ourselves with the spells at least to some degree before we make off for the Seven Heavens -- I mean, you don't want to be still reading and learning the spells during our later journey, do you?" Khadgar smiled and nodded. "Yes, I agree as well," nodded Sir Morgeruat. "Let's spend a bit of time to learn the spells first." Meanwhile, Sir Jorlon noticed Chun-Li standing near another shelf and looking intently at the pages of a book. "What are you reading, my lady?" asked Sir Jorlon. "Oh, I'm just reading a bit on flower arrangement," replied the drow. "I've always wanted to learn this..." Just then Ghzarbanan cut in, waving a large, thin book with a real gaudy picture on the cover. "Hey, you fellas simply must read this! Great stuff! Our brother StoneRock's enjoying another copy of this nearby also!" Sir Jorlon took the book from Ghzarbanan. "What's this... Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook, 2nd Edition..." ******************************** In the Seven Heavens... Lord Kuan entered the lavishly decorated central hall of his Golden Palace. Inside, two tall figures of unearthly majesty and beauty could be seen, seated on thrones of light. "It's been long since we met, O Lord Clangeddin and Radiant Heart," greeted Lord Kuan happily as he helped himself to an empty throne. "How have you fared? I trust you have had ample time for leisure apart from your work." "We have indeed," replied Clangeddin with a smile as he fingered his white beard. "How about you, Lord Kuan?" "It is the same with me," nodded Lord Kuan. "I thank you kindly. The recent turn of events in the mortal world does not please me, though." "The Crusade of Darkness started by the self-styled Dark Knight and his minions is a cause for concern indeed," said Radiant Heart. "Helpless mortals are slain by the hundreds, and even now a few of my beloved human followers in the mortal world have already been turned into his servants by the Foul One's magicks. Such an affront to the Forces of Good simply cannot be tolerated." "What we shall need to do," joined Clangeddin, "is assign a party of mortals with the task of destroying the Dark Knight and his undead forces. And in fact one such party of adventurers is now travelling to our plane to procure the Twin Sunblades, Guthay and Filistin, with precisely the express purpose of defeating the Foul One. But would the Sunblades suffice? Should we provide them more help?" "We should, indeed," replied Lord Kuan. "I already intend to lend them my Halberd of the Constellations." Radiant Heart gasped. "Are you sure of that? The Halberd of the Constellations is a weapon of truly titanic power which has only been wielded by the gods and never before by mortals. Even the Twin Sunblades combined are barely a match for it. Will those mortals be able to handle it?" (ooc: To Azrael ~ Why not bring in a god of yours, too -- more specifically the one worshipped by Ghzarbanan and his Order? You can make the god an Egyptian one, too, since the Ankh is a symbol used by Ghzarbanan's order. ;) ) [ 08-25-2002, 08:13 PM: Message edited by: K T Ong ] |
OOPS. Sorry K T on that mistake, i haven't seen Morgeruat in awhile, so i thought it was you.
|
OOC: lol, I take no offense, I've just been busy and I try to put more thought into this thread than some of the others I frequent, which tends to mean I post less here
|
OOC- Dude, sry Morgeruat. I hope things lighten up on you. But do what you gotta do, thats my advice. If it means being away from IW for 2 months, thats ok.

All these books, Ghzarbanan knew it would take several lifetimes to accumlate the knowledge in the books amassed in front of him. He had been searching for hours, but still was unable to find the tome he wanted. Maybe the book didn't exist anymore. There was supposed to be a few copies still in existance but What are the odds of him actually finding one. He turned down another aisle following another hunch he had as to where to find the book he was looking for. All of a sudden there it was, the fruits of his labor had actually paid off. There sat a dusty copy of 'Tenser's dtailed accounts of relics of the gods, and other such holy artifacts'. Ghzarbanan stared at the book in shocked silence for a few moments before he was able to even graps the faded leather of the binding. Ghzarbanan was one step closer to completing his Lifequest. before the coming of the Deathknight, and before the horrible slaughtering of his order, Ghzarbanan quested for the "eye's of god" these two mysterious gems were said to be able to form a Holy Avenger the likes of which the world has never seen, usuable only by the paladin that recovered the items. Ra would only let the most noble paladin recover the Eyes. It had been the quest of many a knight of his order for generations, yet he was first to actually recover one eye, let alone his acquisition of both of them. The book before him detailed the making of that sword, his life's work. Ghzarbanan smiled with pure pleasure, for the first time since he heard of the death of his order. The means of his revenge on the forces of evil were at hand, May their dark Gods have mercy on their lost souls.
